Dana passes away at the end of the episode and Alice is overcome with grief, as she arrived back to Dana's room minutes after she dies.
Shane goes to work at a cool new skate shop; Jenny introduces Moira to the girls; Kit befriends Bette and Tina's nanny, Angus; Alice continues her emotional tailspin over losing Dana; Tina goes to work for Helena.
In The L Word: Generation Q, Bette reveals that Jenny died by suicide.
In season three, Jenny is sent to a clinic in her Illinois home town to begin recovery from her self-harm habit and depression. There she meets Moira Sweeney (Daniela Sea), a CIS woman who identifies as a man.
By the time of Generation Q, set over ten years after Jenny's death, Bette and Tina have separated again. Dialogue reveals that at some point, Bette and Tina eventually got married, but got divorced after Tina fell in love with another woman, Carrie.
Eventually Tina chooses Bette over Helena, and the end of the season shows Tina asking to move back in with Bette. Tina's labor is surprisingly difficult, but their daughter Angelica is eventually born, and the end of the season shows Bette as calm and happy in her new family.
Jennifer Beals was pregnant during the filming of this season, though her real life pregnancy was not written into Bette's storyline.
Season Four
Jenny makes her first appearance of the season in Easy J, when Chuck, who is warring with Blair, gets her an interview with Tim Gunn.
“I am making space for other stories,” she explained. “The whole point of The L Word: Generation Q was to tell these new stories.” The plot turn raised questions about how the series would handle Bette's big move and how much fans could expect to see their favorite throughout the rest of season three.
Marina has a short relationship with Jenny. We later find out, after she has already left the show, that Marina is married to a man; this, along with her attempted suicide and institutionalization, is used to explain the quick departure of the actress playing her.
At the same time, Shane is still afraid to commit to a relationship after what she went through with Cherie. However, Shane eventually gets together with Carmen and confesses her love.
Jenny from Forrest Gump died from HIV/AIDS
Twenty-five years after the film's release, screenwriter Eric Roth finally revealed that Jenny did, indeed, die from HIV/AIDS. She likely contracted the disease in the many years that she and Forrest were apart.
Moira is harassed and not hired for a job because of her sex; she returns to the same company as Max and he is hired right away.
But as the series went on for two seasons, the question of Max still hung over audiences and Sheng. Last we knew, Max had been left pregnant and alone when the original L Word concluded.
Tim discovers Jenny's affair with Marina - leading to a disastrous choice for the couple's shaky relationship; the reaction of Bette's father to Tina's pregnancy devastates Bette and leads Kit to confront him on her behalf.
Anyway, Max goes in to a doctor visit right before he is scheduled to get his chest surgery, and it turns out that he is pregnant. I know, right, pregnant. I really didn't see this coming. Max pleads with the doctor, citing his testosterone use as to how he cannot be pregnant.
After Dana dies, she dates Dana's ex, Lara (supporting characters). In the fourth season, she has a fling with Phyllis and then begins to date Tasha. With this new relationship, we actually see Alice's political nature come out, as she expresses her disdain for the military and the war in Iraq.
But don't fret! The Flashdance star and the series' showrunner have reassured fans that this isn't the end for Tina and Bette in The L Word universe. “I'm making space for other stories. The whole point of The L Word: Generation Q was to tell these new stories,” Beals explained in a recent interview with UPI.
Ten years passed between end of The L Word and the start of Generation Q. During this time, Bette and Tina got married but the marriage only lasted a couple of years and they got divorced around one year prior to GQ.
She marries a Scottish man called Philip Worth. We only see him briefly, as he appears in one episode before Jenny's departure at the end of season 3.
Jenny meets Brianna Randall Fraser for the first time at Lallybroch, when the girl travels into the 18th century to search for her parents. Jenny is delighted at seeing that Jamie fathered a daughter as they had never expected him to have children, and marvels at Brianna likeness to him.
Though Bette continues her relationship with Jodi, she longs for the life she shared with Tina. Bette and Tina soon begin an affair, though they both claim to be unsure if they want anything more than their sexual reconnection. So Tina begins a flirtation with Sam, a woman who works on the set of Lez Girls.
Thus, when Amy formally begins dating Jonah in season three, she soon learns that she is expecting a child with her ex-husband. This puts Amy in an extremely awkward position as her relationship with Jonah deepens.
Pippa is eventually won over when Bette secures an exhibition for her work at the California Arts Center (CAC), and the two begin a professional and romantic relationship.
