Harriet Kepner-Avery is the daughter of April Kepner and Jackson Avery.
The character's main storylines involved her professional struggles, her religious beliefs. She married Jackson Avery and had two children: a son, Samuel, who died of osteogenesis imperfecta type II, and a daughter named Harriet. The character's story concluded with the 14th season.
Season 10, Episode 14 - Episode 21: Jackson & April Adjust To Married Life And Discover They Are Expecting A Baby. After Jackson and April announce to their friends that they had got married in season 10, episode 14 "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away", the couple tried to adjust to married life.
Thursday's episode featured the former couple in a bitter custody battle for their daughter Sofia that ended with Arizona gaining full custody.
The reason Arizona won that custody battle is because she was the better person to raise Sofia. Callie decided to run off to New York with her girlfriend of a few months and thought it would be fine to drag her child across the country, away from all her friends, away from her school, and away from her other mom.
Season 14, episode 23: April nearly died
Jackson prayed for her and promised to believe in God if she lived. His prayers were answered. After her near-death experience, April made a hasty decision to marry Matthew and leave Grey Sloan.
They lost their first child — a son named Samuel Norbert Avery — to osteogenesis imperfecta on Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 11, “All I Could Do Was Cry.” Sadly, they never learned how to be there for each other while grieving him, and his loss is essentially the catalyst for their divorce.
April is serving as Owen's best man, but when she forgets the ring, she and Ben run back to Meredith's house to get it. As her contractions get closer together, Ben must step up and deliver the baby with an emergency C-section.
He is pronounced brain dead and, wanting something good to come from it, Jo decided to donate his organs for transplant. Jo and Alex have their wedding in "All of Me".
April and Jackson were overjoyed to find out they were pregnant in Season 11, but prenatal tests soon showed that their baby, who April and Jackson would go onto name Samuel, had a fatal birth defect. He suffered from a disease called type two osteogenesis imperfecta, which makes a person's bones very brittle.
In the last minute, April revealed to Arizona that she was pregnant. Oh, and Jackson wasn't marrying Tatiana as we were led to believe — she was marrying someone else, Jackson was just walking her down the aisle.
Despite the harrowing circumstances of April's delivery, she and the baby are alive and healthy, thanks to Ben. In an unlikely parallel to the case that ended with Ben's suspension several months earlier, Ben redeems himself.
By the time Avery's required year living in Hawthorne House is over, Avery and Jameson are in a relationship. Jameson becomes increasingly protective of Avery, which she gets angry about. But they are able to work through things and remain together happily.
On Valentine's Day, Kepner returns to the hospital, where she and Avery embrace in the foyer. In season 12, their marriage begins to fall apart and they grow estranged. In episode 11, they file for a civil divorce. After their divorce is completed, Kepner reveals that she is pregnant with Avery's child.
Alex Karev's fate was finally revealed during Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy. After Alex (Justin Chambers) planned to take a plea deal that would see him go to jail for two years, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) finally located him—but Alex wasn't in jail!
After Callie discloses her desire to move to New York with Penny and take her and Arizona's daughter, Sofia, with her, Arizona takes Callie to court for sole parental custody. Callie eventually loses custody of her daughter to Arizona and breaks up with Penny, heartbroken, Penny moves to New York.

Later, she marries Owen but expresses doubt and second thoughts before the wedding in the season 12 finale. The thirteenth season sees Amelia and Owen's marriage face problems when the idea of pregnancy brings repressed memories of the death of her firstborn son, Christopher.
She meets an ex's colleague, Dr. Nathan Riggs, but she eventually decides to stay single; she has also been linked to Dr. Cormac Hayes, her colleague and friend, but it remains platonic. Ultimately, Meredith remains single after Derek's death, and continues to dedicate herself to her career and children.
Owen and Teddy start sleeping with each other again, and in the season finale, Owen proposes to Teddy, which she accepts. In the beginning of Season 18, Owen and Teddy got married at the Emerald City Bar after their wedding at the Park was interrupted by a bicycle accident.
