In the process, the two slowly begin to embrace their romantic feelings for another. Returning home, Jonathan and Nancy assist Joyce in freeing a possessed Will from another entity from the Upside Down known as the Mind Flayer. A month later, Nancy and Jonathan have become an official couple.
Nancy Wheeler, portrayed by Natalia Dyer, is a main character in Stranger Things. Nancy is an aspiring journalist, and an ally to "the Party". She is the older sister of Mike Wheeler, the former girlfriend of Steve Harrington, and the current girlfriend of Jonathan Byers.
Powers and Abilities. Nancy Wheeler is the former girlfriend of Steve Harrington and the current girlfriend of Jonathan Byer in the supernatural-drama series Stranger Things.
Steve is initially portrayed as a stereotypical 1980s popular “jock”; he has an antagonistic personality, yet attracts the attention and admiration of many students. Steve is shown to be dating Nancy Wheeler, but after he harasses Jonathan Byers by breaking his camera, Nancy seems to become close to Jonathan.
We can already see that being in a long-distance relationship isn't something that helped Jonathan and Nancy prosper. Yes, both of them have been worrying their heads about the relationship, and, yes, both of them love each other, but they've also been doing just fine on their own.
In season 1, Nancy dates Steve but it soon becomes apparent that she's attracted to Jonathan. In season 2, Nancy and Steve try to make things work but, Nancy confesses to Steve that she doesn't love him and begins dating Jonathan afterwards.
Nancy dumped Steve and started going out with Jonathan and Steve became the babysitter we all know and love.
The answer is a straight-up no, no. Steve and Robin are “platonic” friends something she made sure to highlight to Nancy several times during season 4.
At the end of Stranger Things 4, Maya Hawke's character Robin was getting close to Vickie, a clarinettist who plays with her in the Hawkins High marching band. It was speculated that the two will become a couple in the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
At the end of Stranger Things season 4 volume 2, Nancy and Jonathan are still together, meaning Nancy and Steve definitely don't get back together. But there's always season 5.
Sadly/thank-god-because-monsters, it's not—but! Nancy and Jonathan are dating IRL and have been since season 1. And considering season 1 started filming in 2016 and season 5 is about to drop... hopefully sometime in 2024 lol, that means they've been together for over six full years.
Steve Harrington has not been able to find love after Nancy. Here's why the Stranger Things character should let the past stay in the past.
Karen is shown to prioritize her kids over her own wants, restraining herself from having an affair with Billy since she doesn't want to hurt her family.
The theory is that Karen Wheeler might be Vecna's sister, Alice Creel. As we know, Vecna is actually a man of many names, including 001, Peter Ballard and Henry Creel. We saw Henry and Alice together as children briefly in a flashback and it is believed that Henry killed his sister along with his mother.
Mike finally says that he loves her. In the Void, El becomes emotional when Mike tells her he has always loved her, and that he was afraid to say it out of fear that if El ever left him, it would make that day hurt even more.
Midway through the season, Vecna made his move and tried to make Max his fourth victim. Luckily, Lucas was able to save her by playing Kate Bush's "Running Up that Hill." Going into Volume 2, Max was alive, but she was still marked by Vecna.
In an interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine, Maya explained, "Throughout filming, we started to feel like she and (Steve) shouldn't get together, and that's she's gay. Even when I go back and watch earlier episodes, it just seems like the most obvious decision ever."
Robin ended up in Season 4 making PB&J sandwiches with her crush Vickie (Amybeth McNulty) helping out displaced Hawkins residents following the disaster caused by Vecna.
As it turns out, Robin doesn't want Steve, because she wants another person entirely, one who also happens to be a girl. This scene is one of the best the series has to offer, and not just because Keery and Hawke both knock it right out of the park.
The shippers weren't thaaat far off. Robin and Steve didn't get together in Stranger Things season 3 because Robin is gay. This wasn't the original plan though. Maya Hawke just revealed that Robin and Steve actually were supposed to get together at first.
Robin is highly intelligent and hyper-empathetic and struggles to understand social situations. She even describes her struggles in dialogue in the show by listing autistic traits. Here are her other autistic traits: She tends to ramble a lot and talk a lot about random things.
All-in-all, he's a pretty terrible boyfriend. To his merit, Steve recognises he was wrong in their argument and goes to Nancy's house to make amends. Instead of this resolving the situation, it makes things a hundred times worse, as he discovers Jonathan in her bedroom with her and assumes she's cheating with him.
The school year in S2 was 1984-1985, and if Steve was a senior then, that means during the 1983-1984 school year, he was a junior, making him a year older than Nancy . . .
Still, we learn that he takes his relationship with Nancy very seriously; he helps her study and respects her boundaries. Although he probably didn't expect it at first, Nancy was on her way to becoming the love of his life.
