Emperor Palpatine AKA Darth Sidious is Darth Vader's true enemy. From the beginning, he only ever wanted to use Anakin/Vader to further his own goals. He never really cared about Anakin's well being, only about how he could manipulate him into serving him.

Darth Sidious
In the end, Vader managed to fulfill the prophecy tied to him. As for Darth Sidious, he's by far the most dangerous enemy Vader has had. Becoming emperor of the galaxy and crushing most of the Jedi was proof enough.
Jedi Master Yoda is the most powerful of them all. This should come as no surprise, as he was the head of the Jedi Order in the prequels and was revered for his abilities during the original trilogy. Yoda's power is unmatched and was a real threat to Darth Vader and the Imperials.
Erv Lekauf was a lieutenant in the Imperial Army who served as Darth Vader's personal aide for several years. On a mission to Vohai in 19 BBY, Lekauf helped Vader fight the Emperor's Hand Sa Cuis, impressing the Dark Lord with his courage and loyalty.
During the Imperial Era, a human female nurse served the Galactic Empire on board the Death Star under the supervision of a doctor. They both served the Sith Lord Darth Vader as his personal medical caretakers. The nurse became obsessed and psychotically in love with the Dark Lord of the Sith.
Sate Pestage was Palpatine's long-time ally and confidant.

1 Darth Sidious
There has been no Sith, as powerful, meticulous, nor as evil as the Emperor himself, Darth Sidious. As previously mentioned, Sidious trained in the Dark Side by Darth Plagueis before Sidious killed Plagueis in his sleep, making Sidious a Sith Master.
Master Yoda has risen above all others to claim the top spot as the most powerful Jedi of all time and the true chosen one according to IGN's audience. He won pretty handily as well, as he was victorious in 89,756 of his 95,243 battles and had a win percentage of 94.2%.
In Star Wars Legends and Canon, Galen Marek (Starkiller) is the only Jedi (other than Obi-Wan Kenobi) to put a beat down on Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. Galen was secretly trained as a Sith Lord apprentice to Vader, but returned to the light side and the Jedi.

However, once Luke fully embraced his power in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, he proved that he was indeed stronger than Darth Vader and struck his father down.
In the original trilogy, Palpatine is depicted as the Emperor of the Galactic Empire and the master of Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker).
When Palpatine reveals himself as a Sith Lord to Anakin in Revenge of the Sith, a small detail shows that he considered dueling Anakin. A small detail in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith suggests that Palpatine toyed with the idea of killing Anakin—before he had fully seduced him to the dark side.
The final season of The Clone Wars reveals that freaking Darth Maul was aware that Anakin Skywalker would directly lead to the downfall fo the Jedi and the destruction of the Republic.

The choice to leave his mother at a young age continues to haunt Anakin throughout his life. He is plagued by nightmares of her and visions of her fate. When he eventually saves her from a group of Tuskens on Tatooine, his blind anger at her dying state consumes him.
According to Star Wars Legends content, the first Sith was a former Jedi Master, Ajunta Pall, who became a so-called Dark Jedi, or “Fallen” Jedi. As the name implies, these Force-sensitives chose to practice the Dark Side, and rejected the Light Side of the Force.
A Sith Lord with the ability to cheat death and create life, Plagueis is the mentor of Sheev Palpatine / Darth Sidious, who, in accordance to the Sith's Rule of Two, eventually betrays Plagueis by murdering him in his sleep, taking his place as Sith Master.
Biography. Legend had it that Yoda—a Jedi who became Grand Master—was trained by N'Kata Del Gormo.
Aside from agility and telekinesis, Yoda could absorb and redirect Force attacks, like lightning. Because of his higher understanding, he would easily overcome Darth Vader in a fight, though that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a difficult battle.
During the early days of the Clone Wars, Skywalker served as a Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic, commanding the clone troopers of the elite 501st Legion against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

But their defiance gave Sidious a new opportunity – he would drain the energy of their Force dyad to restore his own body, then rule alone.
One could theorize that he bore a child through some sort of space artificial insemination, or something closer to what we've seen in canon Star Wars material. In the canon comic Darth Vader No. 25, it is revealed that Palpatine somehow used the Force to manipulate midichlorions to impregnate Shmi Skywalker.
