When Archie begins to grow old feelings for Veronica again, he and Betty agree that it's best for them to end their romance. After briefly rekindling his romance with Veronica and the two ultimately realizing they weren't compatible anymore, Archie and Betty begin an actual romantic relationship.

In subsequent issues, the two plan a gorgeous wedding and welcome a beautiful set of twins. This all seems fine and dandy until Issue #603 . . . when Archie proposes to and marries Betty.

In the first season, Betty confesses her love for Archie, though he doesn't reciprocate at the time. When the two are sneaking around in the fourth season, cheating on Veronica and Jughead, it's Betty who calls things off.
In this series, Jughead has taken over Pop's from Pop Tate and has renamed it Jughead's, which later spanned a franchise in each respective universe. Season four sees Archie and Betty finally get romantic . . . but they cheat on their respective partners to do so. After pretending to be a couple in order to make people believe Jughead is dead, they each cheat for real on Veronica and Jughead after kissing in the garage.

Betty and Jughead's relationship fell apart before they went off to college after he found out about her and Archie. Then came that voicemail he left her while drunk in New York. The two were back to investigating together near the end of Season 5, but both are now involved with other people.
Betty gets an offer to head up the FBI's serial killer division with Agent Drake, but she turns it down, saying she's “moving towards the light.” She also changes her mind and proposes to Archie, which he happily accepts.
