Bruno Madrigal is the deuteragonist of Disney's feature film Encanto. He is the only son and youngest child of Alma and Pedro, the youngest triplet brother of Julieta and Pepa, the brother-in-law of Félix and Agustín, and the uncle of Dolores, Camilo, Antonio, Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel.
Bruno Madrigal is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Animation Studios' 60th feature, Encanto (2021). Voiced by John Leguizamo, he is Mirabel's ostracized uncle who has the ability to see the future.
But Bruno clearly believes he's the true black sheep of the family, and even in the song, he admits he's “got a lotta 'pologies to say.” But the apologies that need to be said should be coming from his sister Pepa and his mother, Abuela.
Bruno Madrigal: Bruno is Camilo's uncle. Since his uncle was secretive and withdrawn even while he was still with the family, and disappeared when Camilo was only 5 years old, he didn't really know anything about Bruno and only heard some rumors from his relatives.
Abuela Alma tells Bruno to look into the future on why Mirabel didn't get a gift. Bruno is the youngest of the fraternal triplets and the only son of Alma and Pedro, his siblings being Julieta and Pepa.
Camilo is setting the record straight about the rumors of raising his child Índigo as non-binary. On Saturday (Jan. 28), the Colombian pop star denied the reports while expressing his support for the LGBTQ+ community. Camilo became a father in April 2022 when his wife Evaluna Montaner had their daughter Índigo.
Encanto 2 has yet to be officially confirmed by Disney, but recent developments at the House of Mouse might have given fans hope that we'll all be talking about Bruno again (if we even stopped). In February 2023, Disney confirmed sequels for Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia.
She and her husband have three children: Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel, each of whom play important roles in Encanto. Julieta is next in line to lead the Madrigal family after Alma, and her caring and attentive disposition makes her perfect for the role.
Like the other triplets, Bruno is 50 years old in Encanto. Cursed with clairvoyance, Bruno is shunned away by his family, and even his village, because of his pessimistic predictions.
While Encanto doesn't have a traditional Disney villain, Dolores Madrigal seems the closest to fulfill that role, especially with how she tries to ruin things for her cousin, Isabela.
For instance, Mirabel's sister Luisa (Jessica Darrow) gets super strength, and her cousin Dolores (Adassa) has the power of keen hearing. However, in the film, Mirabel doesn't get a gift, which causes problems in her relationship with Abuela Alma (María Cecilia Botero).
So to protect his niece, John Leguizamo's Uncle Bruno went into hiding, living in the house's walls for ten years.
Félix Madrigal is a supporting character in Disney's 2021 film Encanto. He is the husband of Pepa, the father of Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio, the uncle of Isabela, Luisa, and Mirabel. Since Félix married into the family, he has no magical gift of his own.
Alma Madrigal: Alma is Isabela's maternal grandmother as the mother of Isabela's own mother Julieta. Isabela is Alma's oldest and presumably favorite grandchild. Isabela respects and cares about her grandmother and wants to make her proud.
The most reasonable explanation is that Bruno's character was just not meant to have children/spouse, that would be way too much characters. Besides, he doesn't strike me as the type that would want a spouse and children, despite the fact that he absolutely loves and adores his family.
Like Mirabel, Abuela wasn't granted a gift by the Encanto, but instead is the holder of power for the entire family. As the keeper of the candle, Abuela oversees the magic of the Encanto and its community. However, it isn't actually the candle that keeps the magic alive, it is the Madrigal family.
Isabela Madrigal is Luisa and Mirabel's eldest sister, gifted with the ability to grow flowers. Due to this, her family often see her as perfect, especially Abuela Alma. Mirabel is often annoyed at Isabela's entitled personality.
Alma Madrigal (often referred to as Abuela) is the deuteragonist of Disney's 2021 animated feature film, Encanto.
But in the film, when Mirabel finally is able to put her hand on a doorknob after her childhood attempt fails, it brings the magical casita of the Madrigals back to life. Perhaps her gift is the greatest one, the power to keep her family, their home and all their magical separate gifts, together and thriving.
Mirabel, at an undefined point in time after the events of the first movie, was told by her abuela Alma, as she was dying, that she was chosen to be the next matriarch of the family, as a thank you for saving the miracle and helping mend the family back together.
But NothingReallyAndYou reveals that, actually, Mirabel doesn't get a door or a room because the entire Casita is hers. Her gift was the magic in the very walls of the Casita. She is the next caretaker, the leader, the center of the family.
Evaluna Montaner and Camilo Echeverry have been married for only three years, but they are already planning to renew their wedding vows.
WHY DID THEY CHOOSE THE NAME? Evaluna mentioned in an interview that they chose the name because they didn't want to know what the gender was until this or this one was born and Indigo seemed like a neutral name to them. The Colombian musician said he loves that it is a word esdrujula.
