Priority Bandings
The bandings are as follows: Band A – for households with an urgent need to move. Band B – for households with a high priority to move. Band C – for households with an identified housing need.
New allocations — priority housing waiting times
From the date of approval to the applicant's priority category, applicants waited 12 months on average to be housed.
People on the social housing register are given a "need score" out of 20 (20 being the highest need) and a priority category (A for high priority and B for lower priority).

Who lives in public housing? Most people receiving public housing assistance are seniors, disabled individuals, and children. Currently, there are more than 2.2 million persons that reside in about 1.1 million public housing households, including approximately 800,000 children.
