The close connection between the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Angels is one we see throughout her life on Earth: at the Annunciation, the Nativity of her Divine Son, her Assumption into heaven, and finally her Coronation as Queen of Angels and Men.
The "Queen of Heaven" is mentioned in the Bible and has been associated with a number of different goddesses by different scholars, including: Anat, Astarte or Ishtar, Ashtoreth, or as a composite figure.

The Feast of Mary Queen of Heaven follows the Assumption of Mary which commemorates her earthly death / heavenly birth on August 15. In heaven she was crowned Queen of Heaven on August 22.
Mary is the Queen of Heaven. Mary is the Mother of God. And when your son is God the King, you are the Queen mother.
Queen of Heaven
The colour blue became associated with the Blessed Virgin Mary in the early 5th century, after she was declared “Queen of Heaven, Spiritual Mother and Intercessor” by the Church in 431.
Another passage that sheds light on Mary's queenship is in the Book of Revelation, chapter twelve: “And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars; she was with child…” (Rev. 12:1-2).

The Church as the Bride in Ephesians 5:22-33: The Church is called the Bride of Christ and Christ is declared the Head of the Church, His Bride. As individual believers and as the Church we have an intimate relationship with Christ. This is a relationship that is closer than an earthly husband and wife relationship.
Much of the discussion about Heavenly Mother consists of references to the logic of the relationship – if God is the father of our spirits, as Mormons believe, then there would need to be a mother.

Official status and feast
The belief in Mary as Queen of Heaven obtained the papal sanction of Pope Pius XII in his encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam (English: 'Queenship of Mary in Heaven') of October 11, 1954.

Ishtar was an ancient goddess in ancient Mesopotamia, who had a complex and varied character. Her associations included love, sensuality, fertility and war, giving her the extraordinary ability to both create life, and to take it away.
And thus, Mary is Queen of the angels, not only in Her physical position, but in Her intellectual qualities. Her duties and closeness to salvation required a greater understanding of the Mystery of Jesus than any angel would ever possess. And yet the angels also serve their Queen.
At her Assumption, she is said to enter 'into heavenly glory'. Revelation 12 could be a poetic description of these facts.
In the presence of the apostles gathered around her bed, also in the presence of her divine Son and many angels, Mary died and her soul, rose to heaven, accompanied by Christ and the angels. Her body was buried by the disciples.
