Rafael realises that Jane is his one-true-love, and he proposes to her which she happily accepts. They eventually marry in the series finale. Rafael meets Petra Andel at a board meeting called by his father, Emilio, to announce that Petra's fiancé, Lachlan Moore, will become CEO of the company.
Rafael realizes he has feelings for Jane again after talking to Rogelio who seems to think it's just matter of time until they're together again seeing how close they are.
It's clear that Rafael has feelings for Petra and is sad when Chuck shows up at her door and they reconcile. Rafael is having trouble keeping his feelings for Petra under wraps and gets jealous when the girls are affectionate with Chuck.
Meanwhile, Catalina and Rafael sleep together. The two begin to date. Later, Jane suspects that Catalina is stealing money, but lies to her. In the end, Catalina is revealed to have been stealing money.
Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) girlfriend Abbey (guest star Minka Kelly) suggests moving in together, but Rafael seems a little hesitant and turns to Petra and Jane for advice.
Rafael eventually admits his feelings and they get back together. Although, Petra ends it soon after, realizing she only got back with him because he finally chose her over Jane and wanted to end things on her terms.
Did you know. Rafael's new girlfriend Abbey is a greeting card designer. Minka Kelly, who plays Abbey, had a small role on 500 Days of Summer (2009) in which one of the main characters was a greeting card designer.
As showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman announced on Twitter on Sunday, Jane Gloriana Villanueva finally lost her V-card to Michael Cordero on tonight's episode of Jane to Virgin. But it wasn't before a few fakeouts, obstacles, and interruptions from the Villanueva clan.
Rodriguez's directorial debut was the tenth episode of the season, "Chapter Seventy-Four", which aired on February 9, 2018. The episode was specially selected by showrunner Jennie Snyder-Urman as it featured the characters of Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) having sex for the first time.
Spoiler: Jane and Michael finally did it, a deed the show depicted with a cartoon of them stepping into a rocket that blasted off into the stars.
Petra Solano
During the series finale, Petra was emotional over Jane and Rafael's happy ending and feared that she'd never find love again. However, at the wedding, JR returns and reunites with Petra and the duo get back together.
At the end of the season one, Jane and Michael's once happy relationship begins to crumble when Michael cheats on Jane with fellow doctor Kimberly Shaw. Jane then divorces Michael. Jane's younger sister Sydney Andrews moves into her apartment and begins to have an affair with Michael behind Jane's back.
Anna & Ellie Solano (portrayed by uncredited baby actors, seasons 2–3; Mia and Ella Allan, seasons 3–5) are Petra and Rafael's twin daughters. Unlike their half-brother, they grow up to be well behaved with good manners.
Jane tries to find out if she is still married to Michael/Jason and suffers from severe catholic guilt. Jane tries her best to help Jason regain his memory but is not getting through to him. After Jane learns that she is still married to Michael, she decides to get divorced from him so she can move on with Rafael.
The episode of the week for October 31 through November 5 is “Chapter Forty-Seven,” the third episode of the third season of The CW's Jane the Virgin.
But Jane really realizes that these five years and the changes that have happened have changed her, and Rafael is who she wants to be with. Whether he feels the same way is going to be up in the air, but that's where her heart is.
She has a five-year-old son named Mateo, with her boyfriend and baby-daddy, Rafael Solano. She grew up with her very young mother and Abuela, and loves her family deeply.
Although the characters share a 5-year-old son (thanks to the miracle of an accidental artificial insemination) and have dated in the past, viewers have never seen Jane and Rafael as intimate as they were in the closing moments of "Chapter Seventy-Four," which means it was a new experience for the stars as well.
Long story short, Jane was at the doctor's office for a routine visit. Petra was at the same doctor's office for artificial insemination because she was struggling with infertility. Jane was accidentally inseminated instead of Petra. Rafael is Petra's husband, the sperm donor, and now the father of Jane's unborn child.
Even though she was supposedly madly in love with Michael and with him for 2 years, she fell in love with Rafael and left Michael without looking back. And even when Michael cam back in Season 5, she was still really all about Rafael and left Michael after only trying with him for 2 days.
After two seasons, a marriage, and a baby, Jane Gloriana Villanueva is a virgin no longer. It had to happen sometime, and on Monday, it finally did: Jane Gloriana Villanueva, 25-year-old married mother of Mateo, lost her virginity.
SNYDER URMAN: Yes, in keeping with the roots of the show, and the source material, Jane and Rafael were always going to end the series together. That doesn't mean that she and Michael weren't in love!
Jane explores her feelings for Michael and goes out to his new home of Montana. But while there, she can't envision a future without Rafael. She officially ends things with her husband, but when she returns to Miami, Rafael says he doesn't trust her anymore and doesn't take her back.
Things start to get complicated once Abbey starts talking about them moving in together and their future, which Rafael is hesitant to deal with. Rafael realizes he's not in love with Abbey, and unfortunately she overhears his conversation with Petra, where Rafael asks Petra for advice.
Jane deciding to keep Mateo
But in a moment of strength after quitting her job at the hotel (owned by ex-boyfriend, father-of-the-baby Rafael, are you following Jane the Virgin virgins?), our heroine made the decision to keep her baby, Mateo, for herself and sue the father for sole custody.
