While Tengen appears to be flashy and dim-witted, he is actually one of the smartest characters in the series. He is a much more experienced fighter than Rengoku, and his experiences have helped him develop his techniques.
Kyojuro Rengoku surpasses Tengen on many levels, be it strength, Breathing Technique, or battle Intellect. So to cut a long story short, Kyojuro Rengoku is more powerful than Tengen Uzui.
The Stone Hashira is one of the most powerful Hashira in Demon Slayer. However, this is not just due to physical prowess — Gyomei also boasts a sharp mind that stays focused in the heat of battle. This mix of brains and brawn have helped him become one of the most valuable Hashira in the group.
6) Tengen Uzui
He even observed their fighting pattern and devised a counterattack for it as well. There is no doubt that Uzui is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps that possesses a good amount of intelligence.
Rengoku is easily one of the most lovable Hashira in Demon Slayer. This is why it's a shame that he succumbed to the wounds that he suffered in his fight against Akaza.
Himejima is the most respected of the Hashira due to his immense strength and is frequently treated as their de facto leader, being entrusted by Kagaya Ubuyashiki to give out orders. Rengoku's fight in the Mugen Train arc showed his incredible speed and reflexes. He was able to match Akaza's speed, and his movements were so fast that it was almost impossible for the naked eye to keep up. Tengen, meanwhile, is the fastest runner out of all the Hashira.
In the eighth episode of the "Entertainment District" arc, Upper Six Gyutaro couldn't stop gushing over his man-crush on Tengen.
Tengen Uzui
He is the fastest Hashira, and the second physically strongest. Obviously, then, Tengen Uzui is rather proud. He is demanding, fussy, boastful, and prone to selfishness. But he is also ultimately kind and caring, with great love for his three wives as well as the other Hashira.

He would be disoriented by the shockwaves created by Akaza's blows. Tengen has anti-demon bombs that can disorient them for a short period of time, but this wouldn't be an effective strategy when Akaza uses Compass Needle, which allows him to accurately pinpoint and aim for his opponent's weak spots.
