Vice Chair Mas Amedda was greedy, ambitious and cowardly, vices that Palpatine (Darth Sidious) detected early in his career in the Senate, he appealed to Amedda's ruthless desire for status in order to make him his right-hand man and help him topple Chancellor Finis Valorum.
Sly Moore was the Umbaran confidante of Palpatine and, if rumors from the non-canonical Legends timeline are correct, she was also Palpatine's secret lover.
A Sith Lord with the ability to prevent death and create life, Plagueis is the mentor of Sheev Palpatine/Darth Sidious, who, in accordance to the Sith's Rule of Two, eventually betrays Plagueis by murdering him in his sleep, taking his place as Sith Master.
One could theorize that he bore a child through some sort of space artificial insemination, or something closer to what we've seen in canon Star Wars material. Darth Sidious, publicly known as Sheev Palpatine from Naboo, became the Dark Lord of The Sith after betraying and murdering his Sith Master Darth Plagueis. Sidious was the Dark Lord of the Sith during the last years of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire.
Triclops is Palpatine's illegitimate son, named because of his three eyes. He is sent into solitary exile because the Emperor fears Triclops' potential mastery of the dark side of the Force.
In The Rise of Skywalker's novelization, we learn that Rey's father was a failed clone of Emperor Palpatine. He was initially created to be a vessel to house Palpatine and his Sith power. However, Rey's father proved incapable of doing so.
Regardless of how favorable either of these decisions have been received, the canon has firmly established Rey as a Palpatine, but with her own chosen decision to carry on the Skywalker name instead.
