Lord Voldemort
Tom Marvolo Riddle started both Wizarding Wars, created the Death Eaters and killed Harry Potter's parents. We could go on – he was the most dangerous Dark wizard of all time – but we won't. His horrific achievements are well known.
Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), aka Tom Riddle, was described by Dumbledore as one of the best students ever to graduate Hogwarts as well as "the most dangerous Dark wizard of all time." Before he had even learned about the existence of the Wizarding world, he was terrorizing his fellow orphans with impressive but ...
Unfortunately, Slytherin has constantly been associated with evil witches and wizards. Most of this negativity surrounding Slytherin came because of the rise of Lord Voldemort and his followers, the Death Eaters.
Some would say that Dolores Umbridge is the most evil character in Harry Potter, but really, it's between Gellert Grindelwald and Lord Voldemort.
1 Lord Voldemort
Lord Voldemort is the scariest villain in Harry Potter, if only because he is the series' overreaching villain who successfully evades death more than once.
Besides Dumbledore, he is also the only wizard ever known to be able to apparate silently. Voldemort was also said to fear one wizard alone, Dumbledore.
However, from the very beginning, Slytherin is always seen as the evil House. This is how Hagrid introduces Slytherin to Harry. In these words alone, it is clear that Slytherin is the House where everyone is evil. However, this isn't the case, as there are characters such as Horace Slughorn and Leta Lestrange.
Peter Pettigrew represents the worst Gryffindor in the entire Harry Potter series.
Hufflepuff's unjust reputation is apparent in the very first installment of Harry Potter when Draco Malfoy remarks before the Sorting Ceremony: “Imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?” Even Rubeus Hagrid goes as far as to say that the house just consists of “a lot o' duffers”.
