Godzilla has seen many interpretations over the decades, but Shin Godzilla's version of the classic monster stands out as particularly horrifying.
1998's Godzilla is a miserable slog of a film. It was the first American-produced take on Godzilla, and easily stands as the worst, with a large budget and all the resources Hollywood can offer doing nothing to make this fun, interesting, memorable, or even so-bad-it's-good.
Destoroyah may not be the most powerful foe Godzilla ever faced, but he is the cruelest, the most vicious, and the most evil. He looks like a demon, and he fits the bill. He's the only monster in the franchise to laugh at Godzilla during the fight.
With his immense strength and having three heads, King Ghidorah is pretty fearsome and possibly the strongest foe Godzilla has ever fought.
But for the most part, Godzilla is capable of beating his opponents in one-on-one fights. It's why Godzilla is regarded as a nearly unbeatable force. Destoroyah, King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Mothra, and Gigan have all been defeated by him at one point or another.
KING GHIDORAH
Perhaps Godzilla's greatest opponent and arch enemy, Ghidorah is a space dragon born from a meteor that crashed into Japan. He is so strong that he cannot be taken down by one monster alone; Godzilla, Mothra, and a third kaiju, Rodan, must team up to defeat him.
Ghidorah is Godzilla's greatest foe, and it isn't close. This alien creature sports three deadly serpent-like heads, it can fly, and it's capable of withstanding everything Godzilla can throw at it. Though the King Kaiju manages to win in the end, it's usually by the skin of his teeth.
Despite the fact that Godzilla has battled dozens of monsters and won, King Kong gets the point here for actually defeating Godzilla in King Kong vs. Godzilla. What makes Kong's win impressive is that he got the win away from home against a larger, stronger opponent.
In its debut film, Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, Ghidorah is portrayed as an ancient extraterrestrial entity responsible for the destruction of the Venusian civilization, five thousand years before the film's events. Its attempt to destroy Earth is thwarted by the combined efforts of Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra.
Overview. Introduced in Son of Godzilla, Minilla was born on Sollgel Island, when his egg was prematurely cracked open by a group of mutant giant mantises called Kamacuras. Godzilla soon arrived, killed two of the Kamacuras, and rescued Minilla.
Rodan is the second villain in MonsterVerse to be redeemed, preceded by Emma Russell. Much like the MonsterVerse King Ghidorah, the MonsterVerse Rodan is the first incarnation of the character capable of taking on a quadrupedal stance by using his wings as forelimbs.
King Ghidorah showed that Godzilla mutated from a late-surviving theropod dinosaur. The carnivore looked like the old, dumpy restorations of Tyrannosaurus from the mid-20th century, and, no surprise, the fictional dinosaur is known as Godzillasaurus.

Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla
In 1954, Godzilla appeared and laid waste to Tokyo before being killed by Daisuke Serizawa's Oxygen Destroyer. In the decades that followed, Japan was frequently attacked by giant monsters, including Mothra and Gaira.
Biollante is a genetically-modified rose Kaiju hybrid created from Godzilla's DNA by the Devonians, making her Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla's half-sister. She fought against Godzilla on the Monster Islands, but was defeated and escaped into the planet's atmosphere.
It took the combined strength of Godzilla and Kong both to defeat the mechanical monstrosity, but both were weak from fighting each other. If fresh, it's fair to say Godzilla could handle Mechagodzilla, but Kong's lack of ranged attacks would put him at a disadvantage.
Godzilla defeated Gigan in a few seconds in Final Wars. Monster X is a version of King Ghidorah, just like DesGhidorah from the Mothra series. Gigan was also easily driven off in Godzilla vs Megalon. Destoroyah is stronger than Ghidorah, I believe.
Ghidorah (1964) was the turning point in Godzilla's transformation from villain to hero, by pitting him against a greater threat to humanity, King Ghidorah. Godzilla has since been viewed as an anti-hero.
Gojira (ゴジラ?) is a giant, radioactive reptilian daikaiju and the main kaiju protagonist of Godzilla: Bonds of Blood. He is the older brother of Godzilla and the eldest son of Gozira and Gorale.
This reveal means that the MonsterVerse's Rodan essentially betrayed Godzilla when he joined forces with Ghidorah. It would seem that in the distant past, Rodan was actually Godzilla's ally, yet he still teamed up with his ancient rival in the modern era.
While not as popular as the likes of Rodan, Mothra or King Ghidorah, Anguirus has become a popular monster in his own right, and has earned a reputation as being both Godzilla's closest friend and as a tenacious fighter even when severely outmatched.
