1. Thanos (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame)
Thanos has long been one of Marvel's greatest villains, and he has an interesting history. Creator Jim Starlin made him into the ultimate cosmic villain before his epic appearance in The Infinity Gauntlet. This storyline would truly put Thanos on the map and inspire his portrayal in the MCU.

The Avengers' first-ever adversary is the Asgardian god of mischief, Loki, who attempts to rule the Earth, aided by an invading Chitauri army. Loki was, in fact, working at the behest of the Mad Titan, Thanos, who would formulate new plans in the wake of Loki's defeat.
6 Bucky Barnes
Of course, he's one of the exceptions as he turned evil even before becoming the Avenger. Bucky was a hero who fought alongside Steve Rogers in World War Two. But when he was captured and brainwashed, he became an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.
The Mighty Thor! Captain America! The Invincible Iron Man! Alone, each one of these champions is a legend throughout the Marvel Universe. but together, they make up the Avengers' Big Three!
Thor, the god of Thunder, was undoubtedly the most powerful member of the original Avengers. His power continues to grow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the aftermath of his failure, Thor had a new-found determination to kill Thanos and undo the Snap. The remaining Avengers converged on the Titan's home to find him wounded and the Infinity Stones destroyed. Seeking vengeance, Thor raised Stormbreaker and, with one fell swoop, beheaded Thanos.
Galactus is one of the most iconic and powerful villains in all of Marvel, essentially created as a god-like figure to pit the heroes against. Galactus is an enemy above concepts like good and evil.
Kang is stronger than Thanos, with the Conquerer being much more challenging to defeat than the Infinity Gauntlet-wielding villain.
Kulan Gath surpasses Thanos as the ultimate bad guy, as seen when he not just defeated the Avengers but killed most of Earth's heroes in a shocking and terrifying display of this Conan the Barbarian villain's power. To add insult to injury, Kulan Gath ate them afterward.
Before the opening title even appeared, several well-known characters met their demise, including Loki. While behind the scenes of the shoot was more lighthearted, on-screen fans were heartbroken. Thanos kills Loki brutally and tragically while Thor helplessly watches.
Marvel Cinematic Universe: Kang the Conqueror likely killed Thor before the events of Thor: Ragnarok. While this revelation may not surprise fans who have been following the trailers and hints dropped by Marvel Studios, it is still worth exploring Kang's specific relationship with Asgardians like Thor.
The trick worked for a while till Thor outsmarted Loki in Thor: Ragnarok. So far, that was the only film in the trilogy where Loki didn't "die." His final, final death came at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
2) Captain Marvel
She holds her own with Thanos in hand-to-hand combat for longer than Thor, Iron Man, or Steve Rogers, and takes down his enormous warship single-handedly.
Hercules / Zeus
He ranks above Thor here because he's technically the stronger of the two. In fact, he is considered by many authorities to be the physically strongest character Marvel has ever created.
Loki. The trickster god was the first villain the Avengers ever faced, and he may still be their most iconic foe.
1. Arishem. One of the Celestials, Arishem the Judge is a being of such immense power that humans can only vaguely grasp what he's actually capable of. Arishem is so powerful that he created the Eternals, a race of beings that, in and of themselves, are also incredibly powerful.
In a universe with heroes like Wonder Woman, Superman, and the Flash, it's hard to take Captain Boomerang seriously, especially when he's running around trying to take out a goddess. By far the weakest villain, Captain Boomerang just can't accomplish much.
Even without the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos has proven himself to be a hugely powerful threat, often taking on entire teams of Avengers at once. However, it is with the Infinity Gauntlet that he can most consistently defeat the Avengers.
Captain America gets credit as the first Avenger, but now it looks as if the Phoenix was the first. Much like Captain America, she is everything the Avengers represents—she saw a need and proactively acted on it.
Black Panther, real name T'Challa, is the King of Wakanda and the leader of the New Avengers.
Thor loses his eye during the earlier parts of the final battle sequence with this goddess. She casually and effortless beats him around the throne room, and then the moment happens. Hela strikes Thor across the face with her sword, literally slicing the eye from out his head right then and there. Brutal.
