Created by the evil wizard Bibidi, Majin Buu was a malevolent djinn and the most powerful villain in the entirety of Dragon Ball Z. Upon getting resurrected by Bibidi's son Babidi, Buu goes on a rampage, tearing through the Earth's protectors.
As the main character, Goku eventually surpassing Beerus is all but guaranteed. After all, Goku's journey is one of encountering and overcoming obstacles. It was demonstrated with Demon King Piccolo, then Frieza, then Kid Buu. Beerus is yet another obstacle for Goku to overcome.
Zeno from Dragon Ball Super couldn't just defeat Saitama but could put an end to everyone in the One Punch Man universe. He is the god of the multiverse and is so strong that he can wipe out the entire universe with a single thought. If Saitama infuriates Zeno, he can kill him without even raising his hand.
Although Jiren is said to be able to defeat a God of Destruction, it's unlikely Beerus is at risk of suffering that defeat. Beerus has yet to use 100% of his powers in Dragon Ball Super thus far, whereas Jiren at 100% struggled against Mastered Ultra Instinct (MUI) Goku.
The most powerful is Hyperion, and much like Superman, he would end Goku. Hyperion usually hails from another universe and is frequently the most powerful hero around. One version of Hyperion beat every hero and villain on Earth, and another flew through Galactus's head, killing him.
Put simply, Goku can't be killed with the Death Note, as its power, and the power of the Shinigami over the realm/state/process of death by extension, are only effective over human beings.
Vegeta has surpassed Goku by learning techniques his rival could not, but the Saiyan Prince hates that his new abilities are "parlor tricks." Warning: contains spoilers for Dragon Ball Super chapter 73!
Compared to a monster like Goku, Spider-Man is outclassed in nearly every way. Goku is leagues ahead of him in terms of raw strength and speed. Not even Spidey's healing factor is going to save him from the pain Goku will inevitably bring.
1) Jiren. As seen in Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power arc, Goku was unable to defeat Jiren in a 1v1 even after achieving Mastered Ultra Instinct. While Goku has honed his Ultra Instinct since the Tournament of Power in the manga, Jiren and Goku have yet to rematch as Goku is now.
Being trained by Beerus in the ways of Destruction Energy, Ultra Ego Vegeta would presumably be nearly equal to him. While Beerus likely still wins the fight, Vegeta is probably the closest mortal to actually being on similar ground with Beerus.
Vegeta was able to put up a decent fight against Jiren during the Tournament of Power, and he even defeated Toppo, a God of Destruction candidate. Unfortunately, Vegeta's level is defined below that of Broly's, and no matter how strong Vegeta is right now, he will end up getting crushed.
While he had lost everything, Jiren does not become evil and instead becomes an overall selfless and heroic, but distant and cold. Possessing a powerful sense of justice, Jiren devotes everything in justice and never acts for selfish reasons.
Considering Goku always seems to surpass his enemies, there's little doubt he will soon be stronger than the Strongest in the Universe.
Series 1 - Battle of Gods: 13. Goku, Surpass Super Saiyan God! Goku continues to surprise Beerus with his growing powers.
Indeed, Goku has been beaten countless times, and it's usually actually a tradition to have him lose against an arc villain before training and getting powerful enough to defeat our villain once and for all.
Sure. Goku has much greater stats, power, forms, and combat experience/skills, but SpongeBob has much better abilities, arsenal, and hax's that he can win in many scenarios himself.
However, if we compare the two of them in their most powerful forms, Goku has no chance of emerging victorious against Rune King Thor. No matter how powerful his Ultra Instinct could become when he is enraged, this version of Thor has proven to be several times stronger than Goku.
Goku can destroy a universe, but not a space time continuum. They are different. And Low Multiversal requires being able to destroy either multiple space-time continuums or multiple 4-D areas larger than an infinite 3-D one.
As the most powerful character currently seen in the series, Zeno will likely never be surpassed by Vegeta. Thanks to his role as Omni-King and the Universe-erasing powers it grants, the difference in power and ability is too massive.
Goku even makes it clear during the Namek arc that he outright hates Vegeta. But he does love fighting and Vegeta gave him the single best fight of his life. When Krillin is about to kill Vegeta with Yajirobe's sword, Goku uses telepathy to beg his best friend to reconsider.
