In the book,
Doc. Doc is the oldest dwarf and is seen as the leader of the pack.
Thorin, born in T.A. 2746, was 195 years old at the time and the oldest of the Dwarves in the Company. In the movies his age has been changed and he is portrayed as a fairly young looking Dwarf.
He had been 7 years old while Thorin had been 24 on that day, making him the second-eldest of the Dwarves in the company. Tolkien describes Balin as "their look-out man": he spotted Bilbo approaching the Green Dragon Inn at Bywater, saw the trolls' fire in the Trollshaws, and was the first to see the elves in Mirkwood.
In the Second Age, around the year 40, the Firebeards and Broadbeams who lived in Nogrod and Belegost left the destruction behind and came to Khazad-dûm, increasing its wealth and power. The Dwarves had little participation in most of the important events involving the other races.
It suggests this may have been a philological joke on Tolkien's part. Dwarves were long-lived, with a lifespan of some 250 years. They breed slowly, for no more than a third of them are female, and not all marry.
Fili and Kili, nephews of Thorin, are the youngest in the company of dwarves that visits Bilbo's house and sets out to reclaim their home in the Lonely Mountain.
Since Fíli was born in T.A. 2859 and Balin was born in 2763, this would put Ori's birth between 2809 and 2763, and he would have been between 132 and 178 years old during the quest to Erebor.
↑ Durin I died before the end of the First Age, and Durin III lived in the Second Age, so Durin II could have lived in both or either.
Azog is played by Manu Bennett via motion-capture and CG (though he was originally intended to be played by Conan Stevens in a practical costume and makeup). He is a white-skinned Orc, known as the Pale Orc or Azog the Defiler. According to Balin, he is from Gundabad.
In The Hobbit, Thorín Oakenshield has twelve companions: Fili, Kili, Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori, Ori, Oín, and Glóin. Of these thirteen Dwarves, three die at the end of the novel in the Battle of the Five Armies: Thorín, Fili, and Kili. Ten survive.
The brothers were the youngest of the company by some 50 years, with Kíli being five years younger than his brother. Although not twins, the two brothers were inseparable throughout the adventure.
At the end of the novel, The Hobbit, Balin has formed such a great relationship with Bilbo that he is the only dwarf to visit him with Gandalf a second time. Later in life, Balin led an expedition to re-colonize the lost dwarven kingdom of Moria. He was successful, and declared Lord of Moria.
When Snow White comes to visit the dwarfs at their cottage, they tell her a story about the wandering eighth dwarf Breezy, believing that he's successfully found fame and fortune on his long travels.
Dopey is the youngest of the seven dwarfs in Disney's 1937 animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The childlike Dopey gets his name from his incompetence and penchant for silly antics.
Snow White and Prince Florian
In Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Snow White meets a handsome prince after he overhears her singing in the woods. When she's poisoned by her evil stepmother, the Prince comes along and kisses her to wake her up. Snow White was thought to be 14 in the film, and the Prince was 31.
2019: The Lord of the Rings Online:
Durin IV was the reigning King of the Longbeards during the War of the Last Alliance. He and the "Thíuda", the Northmen of the Second Age, were tasked with defeating a mighty horde of Easterlings.
Kíli (T.A. 2864 – 2941 77 years old) was the son of Dís, the sister of King Thorin, and brother of Fíli. Kíli was one of the thirteen Dwarves who took part in the quest for Erebor, which was Bilbo Baggins's great adventure.
Kili: 18 (77)
The ages of his characters differ wildly; Gollum is almost 600 years old, while Elrond, the elf, is several thousand years old, and Gandalf the Grey – and later the White – is immortal (for display reasons, both are thus not mentioned here).
After the death of Thorin in the Battle of Five Armies, Dain becomes King under the Mountain. He redeems the Arkenstone from Bard with a fourteenth of the treasure, which is used to re-establish Dale. Over the next three years, Bard rebuilds the city of Dale and becomes its ruler.
Gimli stated that only approximately one-third of their population consisted of women, which was the reason for the slow increase in population of the race.
Fíli is a Tolkien character who appears in The Hobbit and one of the sequel novels, Unfinished Tales. He is the older brother of Kíli, son of Dís, and the nephew of Thorin Oakenshield. He is a Prince of Durin's Folk who joins his uncle in reclaiming the Lonely Mountain from the dragon, Smaug.
