1. Luke Skywalker. Luke Skywalker is the classic archetype for a hero in Star Wars. Every Jedi since has taken elements from this original model, Rey being perhaps the most notable example.
Yoda was a legendary Jedi Master and stronger than most in his connection with the Force. Small in size but wise and powerful, he trained Jedi for over 800 years, playing integral roles in the Clone Wars, the instruction of Luke Skywalker, and unlocking the path to immortality.
Considered one of the most powerful Jedi to have ever lived, Yoda earned a reputation among his peers for having a deep knowledge of the Force and being highly skilled with a lightsaber.
8/20 Sever Force
Many consider this the most powerful maneuver a Jedi can perform. There have been numerous instances of this technique being used, most famously by Vergere against Jacen Solo during the Yuuzhan Vong War, and then by Jacen himself on his younger cousin, Ben Skywalker.
Force Healing: As a consequence of them being a Force dyad, Rey utilizes Force Healing to heal herself or other sentient beings. Using this ability, she was able to heal Ben Solo of a mortal wound she herself inflicted. She also used this ability on a vexis snake.
In The Phantom Menace Obi-Wan says, "The reading's off the chart. Over 20,000. Even Master Yoda doesn't have a midi-chlorian count that high." Anakin was stronger however, he didn't really master his powers until he became Darth Vader.
There just isn't any way that in an even fight Obi-Wan beats Vader. Although Vader is supposed to be one of the strongest force users of all time, we actually haven't had a chance to see him using his full strength very often.
2/14 Luke Skywalker
Though Yoda was extremely powerful in his own right, Luke, in bringing an end to the Emperor's reign, was able to accomplish what his master never could.
Vader held respect for Tarkin which is clearly shown and the only case in which Tarkin outranked Vader would be the case in which Vader was in the Death Star or within Tarkin's Oversector which he likely was as Tarkin was Grand Moff of the Outer Rim Oversector, the largest one.
Yoda was a wise, experienced, and powerful Grand Master of the Jedi of an unknown species and the oldest known prophet in existence (having lived at least 900 years), considered the wisest and most powerful Jedi Master within the Star Wars universe.
During the High Republic, the 12 seats on the Council consist of three Grand Masters, including Yoda, Lahru, and Pra-tre Veter.
Legend had it that Yoda—a Jedi who became Grand Master—was trained by N'Kata Del Gormo. A Force-sensitive Hysalrian, N'Kata Del Gormo was trained in the ways of the Force and achieved the rank of Master within the Jedi Order.
Vernestra was enough of a prodigy that she eventually attained the rank of Jedi Knight at the age of only fifteen, making her the youngest Knight in a generation.
Many Jedi Masters also took on apprentices to train in the ways of the Force, such as Depa Billaba and Luminara Unduli. After serving as a Jedi Knight for three years, Anakin Skywalker advanced to the point in his training that he felt he deserved the rank of Jedi Master, though the Council did not agree.
Appealing to the hate and conflict within him, Darth Sidious goaded Luke into attacking. Vader defended the Emperor and he and Luke were locked in mortal combat. Luke lost control of his anger, viciously attacking Vader, finally beating him down and chopping off his hand with his lightsaber.
1/15 Luke Skywalker
Having faced his father once before, Luke was familiar with his tactics and used the force to gain an upper-hand. In Star Wars Canon, only Luke Skywalker can be acknowledged as the one who truly defeated Darth Vader.
The duel. Darth Vader defeats Darth Maul. The two Sith Lords engaged in a lightsaber duel, going through the volcano and onto a bridge situated over a river of lava, which collapsed, though they both survived and continued their battle.
Rey's father was a genetic clone of the Emperor himself. Her mother was the woman he loved on Jakku before hiding Rey away from the Empires agents. This reveal, too, was a shock to fans who were largely not expecting any more information on the subject as it had been put to rest in the previous film.
So, as far as the canon goes, yes, Rey is considered a Skywalker. It's just like how any adopted child would be considered a member of the family that they were brought into. Depending on which Star Wars fan you ask, the identity of Rey will vary. Some would consider her a Palpatine because of her blood.
In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we got an answer to the question of Rey's parents: they were nobodies.
Jedi swordmasters
Obi-Wan Kenobi was considered to be one of the greatest Jedi swordsmen of all time. A practitioner of Form III: Soresu, Kenobi was considered the greatest master of the form ever, just as Count Dooku was considered the greatest Makashi practitioner ever.
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the founders of the Jedi Order were Jedi Masters Cala Brin, Garon Jard, Rajivari, and Ters Sendon.
