The third person Eddie meets in heaven is Ruby after the name, Ruby Pier which was given by her husband, Emile. Emile made Ruby Pier as a wedding promise to Ruby. She was Eddie's third person because without Ruby Pier, Eddie would not be the same without growing up on the pier.
Who is the third person Eddie meets? An old woman, Ruby. What did Eddie want from his father?
Her husband Emile was the other patient in the room. Ruby felt connected to Eddie's family because of their connection with Ruby Pier. She thought that the park had cursed their lives, and her wish that Ruby Pier had never been built followed her all the way to heaven. That's why Ruby's heaven is a diner.
The fourth person Eddie meets in Heaven is his wife, Marguerite. She is one of the few people he meets whom he knew in his life.
The fifth person Eddie meets in Heaven is a young girl name Tala. Eddie accidentally caused her death during the war. Tala, the fifth person Eddie meets in Heaven, helps him make peace with himself and his life.
Christians who know and love each other on earth will know and love each other in heaven. Go deeper on this topic in the sermon “Will We Know Each Other in Heaven?” which is part of the Listeners Favorites set.
The people Eddie meets are- the Blue Man, the Captain, Ruby, his wife Marguerite, and Tala(read the book to know their stories). Surprisingly, out of all these five people, it is Tala- a young girl, who Eddie meets for the first time(in heaven, no less!), who had the most profound impact on him.
Eddie never met Ruby during his life, as she was much older and they weren't directly related, but the amusement park where Eddie works all his life, Ruby Pier, was built for Ruby by her husband. Ruby feels connected to Eddie, as she was present in the shared hospital room when Eddie's father died.
Eddie's third lesson is to let go of anger and forgive his father. He finds himself back in the diner where he saw his father. He tells him that he forgives him by saying "it's fixed" (144).
After the death of Eddie's father, he secretly cursed him, for how he had treated Eddie and how Eddie was forced to take over his job at the pier.
After years of traveling, he settled permanently at Ruby Pier, where he found community and a sense of home. He died from a heart attack, caused by the shock from a young Eddie running into the street after a lost ball on his birthday. The Blue Man teaches Eddie that all lives are connected, even strangers.
Who is Ruby in The Five People You Meet in Heaven? What does she teach Eddie in the book? Ruby in The Five People You Meet in Heaven is Eddie's second person. They never met in life, but Ruby's life affected Eddie's in ways he never imagined, and her lesson explains how we're all connected.
Chapter 8 Summary: “The Third Person Eddie Meets in Heaven”
Among these diners is Eddie's father. Eddie tries to talk to his father, but his father cannot hear him. Eddie fought for his father's attention as a child, but his father was always busy working or playing cards.
Eddie feels like a child because he was a child when he met the Blue Man. He is back in the time period when he was a child.
He feels a sense of peace as he floats above the boardwalk. He then comes to the big Ferris wheel, where Marguerite is sitting and waiting for him. Eddie hears the voice of God say: “Home.”
Eddie asks Tala if she knows if he was able to save the little girl before his death. Tala tells him he did manage to push her out of the way. In this way, Tala explains, he also managed to atone every day for her unnecessary death.
The Captain confesses that he shot Eddie in the leg to prevent Eddie from chasing the shadow into the fire. This saved Eddie's life despite leaving him with a lifelong severe limp. Eddie then learns how the Captain died: he stepped on a land mine that would have killed all the men had he not set it off.
Eddie had to forgive his father first to continue with his journey no matter how miserable he felt on earth because of the memories left by his father. Fifth Lesson: Purpose. “Children. You keep them safe.”
Eddie enlisted for the war thinking that it would make him a man. He learned a lot of lessons from his time in the military, especially from his time in captivity. Eddie was taken prisoner along with the Captain and three other men: Smitty, Morton, and Rabozzo.
What does he initially tell Eddie? In Heaven, which looks like the Ruby Pier of his childhood. Blue Man tells Eddie, "I've been waiting for you, Edward. Don't be afraid."
Tradition places seraphim in the highest rank in Christian angelology and in the fifth rank of ten in the Jewish angelic hierarchy.
Michael the Archangel, in the Bible and in the Qurʾān (as Mīkāl), one of the archangels. He is repeatedly depicted as the “great captain,” the leader of the heavenly hosts, and the warrior helping the children of Israel.
Therefore, the first creation by God was the supreme archangel followed by other archangels, who are identified with lower Intellects. From these Intellects again, emanated lower angels or "moving spheres", from which in turn, emanated other Intellects until it reaches the Intellect, which reigns over the souls.
