Translucent is an original character from the Amazon series as he does not exist in the comics. He was also created as a more realistic alternative to the faux alien supe Jack From Jupiter from the original Dynamite series.
Starlight is a parody of both Doctor Light and Stargirl as well Mary Marvel costume with little Powergirl-influenced outfit.
It's no secret that through The Seven, The Boys deliberately rips off of the Justice League team from DC Comics, with characters like Homelander, Queen Maeve, and Black Noir having direct parallels to Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman, respectively.

In both the comic and TV series, Noir is a member of the hedonistic and reckless Vought-American superhero group the Seven and is depicted as a "silent ninja" type parody of Batman, Snake Eyes and Deathstroke.
Powers. Superhuman Strength: Black Noir possesses significant superhuman strength. During his first mission with Homelander, he easily snapped a woman's neck.
Lamplighter is one of three characters to be recast in Season 2 after their first appearance in Season 1. The other two are Naqib and Ryan Butcher. Lamplighter's comic book name and appearance are a parody of DC's Green Lantern, although their powers are quite different.
Kimiko: Wolverine/X-23
Kimiko/The Female of the Species is the only superhuman in the Boys. While she doesn't possess any adamantium retractable claws, her feral nature, violent temper, and ability to survive fatal attacks are quite similar to that of Wolverine and X-23.
Hughie is intentionally drawn to resemble the British actor and writer Simon Pegg. According to Robertson, he drew the character based on Pegg after seeing him in the sitcom Spaced, and thought that Pegg captured the balance of "innocence but tough determination" that Ennis wanted in the character.
Queen Medb is a historical royal figure and a goddess in Celtic folklore and legend in Ireland. Alternately known as Queen Maeve, Queen Mave, or Queen Meave, Medb and the Ulster Cycle of tales originate in early Irish history and culture.
Billy Butcher was designed as a parody of Punisher, a character that series creator Garth Ennis had written for nine years, prior to creating The Boys.
So in order to save not just the lives of the people she loves, but the entire world, she sucks it up and goes further down the rabbit hole, “revealing” a secret relationship with Homelander in the American Hero finale in order to rehabilitate his image, and taking it one step further by kissing him.

Vought Entertainment Television: A fashion and pop-culture channel. It is a parody of Entertainment Tonight. VTV: Television for Women: A TV channel directed at women viewers. It is likely a parody of the Lifetime and Hallmark channel.
The Boys co-creator Eric Kripke discussed replacing Jack From Jupiter with Translucent in a Reddit AMA. He revealed that the change was made because having an alien-looking character would mess with the mythology of the human characters being born with powers.
“The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke backed up the actor's sentiments, explaining the kiss was more about getting Frenchie and Kimiko to a place where they — and the audience — finally realize what they truly are to each other. “So far, my impression of the audience is that they really want those two to get together.
Frenchie and Kimiko talk about their kiss, and agree that it didn't feel weird because it was a bad kiss, or because they don't love each other, but it's familial love, not romantic.
Black Noir
He's exactly like Batman in many ways, but more violent, and he spends a lot of his time beating the hell out of white supremacists. While Black Noir may look a lot like Black Panther, he has a lot more in common with Nighthawk.
Mister Marathon is the original speedster in The Seven and posthumous antagonist in The Boys comic book from 2006. He was replaced by A-Train prior to the beginning of The Boys.
In The Boys comics, Mother's Milk is a supe named Baron Wallis who joins the team after accidentally killing a man in a boxing ring. His nickname derives from the fact that he depends on frequent breastfeeding from his mother, due to being born with traces of Compound V in his system.
Lamplighter
One of the earlier members of The Seven, Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore) was replaced by Starlight, with not much being known about him in the first season. Season 2, however, enlightens us to his abilities.
Powers. Sonic Clap: By clapping his hands together, Supersonic could generate powerful sound waves. He appears to have a great control over the intensity of each sound wave produced by his claps. His powers were demonstrated in the "Rock My Kiss" music video, produced in 2008 by the Vought Music Group.
It is likely that whatever this power is also prevented Black Noir from healing almost 40 years prior. The attack that decimated the Payback team and permanently scarred Black Noir is not fully shown on screen, but hinted at in dialogue between Grace Mallory and Crimson Countess.
Annie's Starlight appearance, especially her original costume, is based on DC heroines Mary Marvel, whereas her powers are based on Marvel's Dazzler, who also can generate light and use it as both heat and concussive force.
