Desperate to see her daughter one last time, Rowena sent a man to bring Helena home. Unfortunately, that man was the Bloody Baron, who was head over heels with Helena, and stabbed her in a rage when she refused to come home.
Rowena became fatally ill, and hoping to see her daughter one last time, sent the Bloody Baron, a man who harbored an unrequited love for Helena, to find her. The Baron killed Helena when she refused to return with him, before killing himself out of regret for what he had done.
Helena Ravenclaw was born in After 982, to Rowena Gryffindor (born Ravenclaw). Rowena was born Before 976. Helena passed away in between 996 and 1000, at age 14 in death place.
