History. When Fujikawa Industries tried to tap into an alternate source of power, it got out of control when super-villains tried to take over it. In this event, Spider-Man was one of the first to die,, but his legacy lived on through Miguel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099.

Spider-Man 2099 (real name Miguel O'Hara) is a fictional character and superhero in the Marvel comics and universe, and is a superhero hailing from the future, specifically the year 2099, and the successor of the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker.
One version of Spider-Man 2099 stands above the others, however, eventually becoming a vital savior to his entire timeline. As a result, he was able to even become worthy enough to lift Mjolnir, Thor's enchanted hammer.
Spider-Man 2099's Powers and Abilities
The gene splicing accident that gave Miguel his powers puts him roughly on par with Peter Parker's superhuman strength, speed, and endurance, able to lift several tons and dodge incoming gunfire.

In several instances, Norman Osborn has gone to some very extreme lengths to make Peter's life as miserable as possible. While any number of his actions have nearly pushed Peter over the edge, the hero has always managed to show some restraint.
The 2099 line was concluded with a one-shot, 2099: Manifest Destiny (March 1998), in which Captain America was found in suspended animation and, with Miguel O'Hara, assembled various 2099 heroes into a new team of Avengers.
He didn't tolerate disrespect to the hero, as he attacked the main universe Spider-Man for supposedly mocking him until he realized it was another version of the hero and grew to respect him. Over time, he became jaded by his occupation and slowly resented the responsibility.
Weaknesses: Optical Photosensitivity: Because of Miguel's accelerated vision and ability to see in the dark, his eyes are known to be extremely sensitive to light.
The Green Goblin is super-strong, super-intelligent, and has an incredible arsenal at his disposal, but Venom's too powerful for any of the Goblin's gadgets to do enough damage to get him the win. Venom would happily take the Goblin down and tell him to leave the Spider-Man killing to the professionals.

Miguel has an enhanced fast-healing metabolism, and enhanced sensory acuity enabling him to see in the dark, at great distances, and track fast-moving objects clearly; however, he is more sensitive to light than normal humans. Outside of his spider DNA, Miguel is a highly skilled geneticist.
While Batman Beyond is a skilled fighter, he's not the fighter Bruce Wayne was in his prime, and he just doesn't have the raw skill it would take to defeat an opponent with Spider-Man 2099's skills. At the end of the day, taking down Miguel O'Hara is simply beyond this Batman's abilities.
Like most Spiders of the multiverse, Miguel could crawl along walls. However, Miguel wasn't able to actually cling to surfaces. Instead, his fingers and toes now had small talons that could puncture almost any surface and allow him to free-climb surfaces.
