After Lord Voldemort's rebirth, Karkaroff left Hogwarts and hid in a shack. However, Voldemort and the
Sirius Black later identifies Karkaroff as a former Death Eater. Karkaroff was captured by Auror Alastor Moody and imprisoned in Azkaban. Karkaroff later told the Ministry of Magic that he had seen the error of his ways, and "named names", putting many people in Azkaban in exchange for his freedom.
During the year of the Triwizard Tournament, Karkaroff was outraged of Harry Potter's name being put in the Goblet of Fire and showed this contempt by purposefully lowering Harry's scores, displaying his bias as a judge.
Not Showing Mad-Eye's Death Was a Disservice
Moody's death came at the betrayal of Mundungus, and the moment he disapparated, Moody was struck by a killing curse by Voldemort and fell off his broom to a certain death.
Before the goblet gives it's results, there is a scene in the movie, where Igor Karkaroff secretly walks into the chamber, when the goblet is placed. This indicates that he is the one who put Harry's name in the goblet, but that is not true, it was Barty Crouch.
He was killed by his former Death Eater comrades, as the Dark Mark had been cast into the sky above it, and Karkaroff's body was found in the shack itself for his disobedience to the Dark Lord.
Barty Crouch, Jr. had Krum under the Imperius Curse. Crouch's intention was to use Krum to neutralize Harry's competitors.
Both Lupin and Tonks die in combat, killed by Dolohov and Bellatrix Lestrange, respectively, leaving Teddy an orphan with Harry Potter as his godfather and Andromeda Tonks as his guardian.

Krum was a vicious racist-hater because Grindelwald killed his grandpa and the nazis killed many people of his muggle-sided family. He is quoted saying that discrimination of muggle-borns is idiotic.
During his pursuit of the Snitch, he was hit in the face by a Bludger which broke his nose and gave him two black eyes. However, he caught the Snitch and ended the match on his own terms.
Dumbledore, having been present at his trial years before, already knows Karkaroff's former allegiance; he does, however, greet Karkaroff as he would a friend, a nod to his forgiving nature. Karkaroff does have his detractors.
The Death Eaters and the Dark Lord don't simply cast Avada Kedavra on everyone all the time because it doesn't suit their long-term goal of ruling the world and having a wizard-run society.
During the task, Barty Crouch Jnr, posing as Alastor Moody by way of the Polyjuice Potion, managed to place the Imperius Curse on Viktor as part of his plot to steer Harry Potter to victory in the Tournament.
Harry, returning to the school, looks into the Great Hall and sees Lupin and Tonks lying among the dead. While this is not mentioned in the book, the author has mentioned in an interview since its publication that Tonks was killed by her aunt Bellatrix Lestrange.
In 1998, Fred participated in the Battle of Hogwarts, defending the castle's passageways with his twin. While fighting alongside his brother, Percy, he was killed in an explosion possibly caused by Death Eater Augustus Rookwood.

Viktor Krum was third, facing a Chinese Fireball. He used the Conjunctivitis Curse to blind the dragon and retrieve his egg. However, he was docked points when the dragon stumbled around and smashed half of the real eggs.
Transfiguration and Animagi are different
For example: if Viktor Krum can transfigure his head into a shark's, like he does in Goblet of Fire, that doesn't mean he is an Animagus. Transfiguration is a form of spell-casting, whereas becoming an Animagus is forever. And yes, he could turn into a falcon. Lucky.
