Eleven and Hopper go down by the gate to the Upside Down in Hawkins, and using Eleven's telekinetic powers, close the gate—for the time being—cutting the Mind Flayer off.
The Mind Flayer persisted, but was overwhelmed by El's powers forcing him to retreat back into the Gate. El then sealed it, and the Mind Flayer is heard roaring in anger and defeat afterwards.
Heather Holloway
She walked away with a supposedly normal Billy in the episode, “The Mall Rats,” but was later killed by the Mind Flayer. While she ended up becoming a part of that huge monster in the end, you can't deny that you feel bad for her - the poor girl only wanted to get a date with Billy and now, she's dead.
"Chapter Eight: The Mind Flayer" is the sixteenth episode of Stranger Things and the eighth episode of the second season.
Out of all these monsters, Vecna does have heightened intelligence along with personal motivation, which makes him the most dangerous. He also has the power to cause harm from a distance, and that makes him seem more powerful than the Mind Flayer.
Vecna created the Mind Flayer when he arrived in the Upside Down and identified the Mind Flayer's particles/hive mind as being the missing piece in his plan to gain ultimate power. Whenever Vecna kills someone, he "consumes" them, according to Dr. Brenner; that means he acquires their consciousness and power.
The Mind Flayer, it turns out, isn't even its own being at all. Instead, it is a living extension of Henry Creel's will, which he can use to possess other beings.
I saw a means to realize my potential, to transcend my human form, to become the predator I was always born to be. Vecna reached out to the Mind Flayer, seemingly using his powers to reshape it into the spider-legged monster he had doodled as a child.
In episode 7, Vecna is revealed to be Henry Creel (played as a youngster by Raphael Luce), the son of Victor Creel (Robert Englund) and his wife Virginia (Tyner Rushing) shown in the 1950s flashbacks.
Billy to Max before his death:
"I'm sorry."
The truth about the Mind Flayer
Using his powers, he was able to control it and use it to do his bidding. With this reveal you find out that 001 is the ultimate monster in all of this and that the events of Stranger Things Season 4 have opened up a new supersized portal between the dimensions.
Before passing, he shares his final words to Dustin to take over and watch out for the Hellfire Club. Like Bob, Eddie's death was entirely avoidable had he followed Dustin to safety. But, in the end, the year 1986 was his year, and he died a hero, making it the most impactful death in the series by far.
The Demogorgon monster was created by Spectral Motion, a creature effects company from Los Angeles that has previously collaborated with Guillermo del Toro. They just had a little over two months to finish the creature, so there wasn't much room for error.
Sharing more about Eleven's real father Andrew Rich could be a great way to wrap up the story.
Vecna was born as a human, centuries ago as a member of the untouchable caste in the Flan city of Fleeth on Oerth. He was initially trained by his mother, Mazzel, in the art of magic, before she was executed by the government of Fleeth for practicing witchcraft.
Next up, the viewers go on to theorise that One/Vecna is actually Eleven's dad. Yep, told you it was wild. The theory claims that Brenner wanted to create a child with stronger powers, so he waited until One was old enough to become a father.
Vecna's first big credited kill was Chrissy Cunningham (Grace Van Dien). He followed that murder with canonically terrible driver Fred Benson (Logan Riley Bruner) and basketball star Patrick McKinney (Myles Truitt).
Ultimately, it is revealed in Stranger Things season 4's finale that the reason why Vecna was killing Hawkins teenagers was to create a massive gate that merges the Right Side Up with the Upside Down - and he specifically needed four bodies to do so.
While intending to get his revenge on Eleven and Brenner, Vecna also goes after victims who have dealt with traumatizing experiences in the past (reminiscent of his childhood and his time at the Hawkins lab).
In the D&D realm, a defining feature of Vecna is that he's missing his left hand and left eye. This is because his trusted accomplice, Kas the Bloody-Handed, betrayed him and used the sword Vecna created himself to chop off his left hand and remove his left eye.
She opened a portal to the Upside Down, which sucked Henry Creel in. There the dark mirror world ripped apart his skin as it began to remake him into something sinister and twisted. But it was a transformation Henry Creel welcomed.
What Does Vecna Want? Vecna's goal is to open as many gates to the Upside Down as he can, in order to help the Mind Flayer.
Eleven has a memory during this episode and realizes that 001/Henry Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower) wants her to join him on his evil journey, and she banished him to the Upside Down. 001 then transformed into Vecna, the horrifying Stranger Things villain.
