After being killed by the Joker, Jason Todd's corpse was brought by a member of the League of Assassins who dunked it in a secret Lazarus pit placed by Ra's al Ghul.
However, Trigon claimed that the pits were his creation, who enslaved the souls of whoever used them once they died. Even though it can bring people back from the dead, if the body is very badly damaged, it won't be able to revive them.
Scarecrow then took advantage of Jason's vulnerable mindset by filling his father-figure void and pumping the struggling Robin with anti-fear drugs. Watching Titans season 3 up until episode 12, Scarecrow appears to be the driving factor in Jason Todd's Red Hood transformation.
The Red Hood was originally a disguise worn by the Joker before he was transformed into a laughing maniac. Jason chose to take over the moniker so he could own what the Joker did to him and use it to become the Joker's destruction.
The Joker kept Jason in a sealed-off and abandoned wing of the asylum, tied to a chair. There, with Frank Boles covering for him, Joker tortured and brainwashed the young man. As part of a psychological plan, Joker forced Jason into believing that Batman had abandoned him, and that Batman was the true villain.
In the three-part season finale "The End", Trigon destroys Earth, though Raven secretly saves the Teen Titans, whom Slade joins in fighting Trigon after being betrayed by him. They mount an assault against Trigon until Robin rescues Raven, allowing her to obliterate him and undo his destruction.
Having taken over Superman's body and getting rid of the liquid Kryptonite that left him de-powered, Trigon turns his attention to Darkseid, interested in fighting him to see how powerful a New God is.
In Batman Annual: Head of the Demon a servant of Ra's al Ghul named White Ghost attempts to trick Talia al Ghul into allowing her son Damian Wayne to sacrifice his body in the Australian Lazarus Pit, in order to provide Ra's with a new body for his displaced soul to inhabit.
The Lazarus Pit's main function is to heal the injuries and even resurrect its user. The pit can revive someone from the dead if they have just died, as it will be ineffective on anyone who has been dead for too long.
Powers & Abilities
Enhanced Strength: After being resurrected by the Lazarus Pit, Jason found that he had enhanced strength. While there are many 'regular' humans stronger than him, for his size and frame he is considerably stronger than he should be.
TLDR: Superman didn't save Jason because he was being tortured by Lex Luthor at the time in order for Luthor to create Conner Kent/Superboy. This is why he wants nothing to do with Superboy once he appears.
After his violent death and subsequent resurrection in the Lazarus Pit, Red Hood gained the ability to harness mystical powers that aid him in battle and allow him to propel his body through the air to traverse the city.
Although his body recuperates, Jason's mind is shattered. Seeing no other way to help him, Talia takes Jason down to the Lazarus Pit and throws his body in while her father regenerates himself. Jason is fully revived in the body and mind.
Throughout season four, Slade acted as Trigon's messenger and would often tell Raven about her destiny. Slade upheld his part of the deal, but when Trigon convinced Raven to submit into becoming the portal, he no longer acknowledges Slade's efforts, telling him that he will not have his life back.
Trigon is the demonic father of Raven, who conceived the Cambion with a human mother named Arella. Throughout comic book history, Trigon has attempted to possess his daughter and destroy the world. Raven resists Trigon's influence, turning away from her dark parentage and leading a more heroic life.
Trigon. After Slade's death, Trigon allowed him to work for him under the condition that Trigon's deal of making Raven submit to him and become the portal is fulfilled. If this deal is fulfilled, Slade would reclaim his flesh and blood and live again.
Although he is considered a demon, Trigon has no connection to the hosts of Lucifer or Satan, and his unnamed dimension has not been confirmed to be part of Lucifer's Hell.
The Teen Titans, along with Slade, launch an all-out assault on Trigon; but in the end, after all the opposing forces have fallen, it is Raven who uses her powers to restore her age and obliterate Trigon, while also renouncing him as her father. This is by far her most impressive feat in the entire series.
Raven attacks Trigon, knocking him back, and, with a final declaration of Trigon not being welcome to her home and that of her friends, unleashes her white soul-self to envelop and obliterate Trigon, cleansing the dark stains he had left upon Earth forevermore and reverting back to her original blue form.
Jason despised Batman for not avenging his death and replacing him with Tim Drake, so he takes his fury out on the new Robin, savagely beating his successor. Jason's jealousy gets the better of him when he assaults Tim in Teen Titans Vol 3 #29.
Batman has trained many young heroes as Robin, and while they have all been impressive on their own, DC just confirmed that one stands above the others in terms of power: Damian Wayne is the most powerful Robin.
He was killed by Joker, but was later revived by the League of Assassins, becoming an enemy of his former mentor; Batman, all in a scheme to kill the Joker.
The abuse continued for six months, and Joker even let other Arkham inmates beat Jason.
