Dec. 28, 1997: Ron Weasley destroys Salazar Slytherin's locket deep in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, by stabbing it with Godric Gryffindor's sword.
The real Horcrux was taken to Twelve Grimmauld Place where Kreacher, following his master's orders, tried to destroy it. When it went missing, Kreacher apprehended Mundungus Fletcher, who had stolen the locket and given it to Dolores Umbridge.
His primary references came from his house-elf, Kreacher, who revealed that Regulus retrieved Slytherin's Locket after discovering it was a Horcrux and attempted to destroy it.
Harry Potter and Dumbledore recovered this locket from a seaside cave at great cost, weakening Dumbledore hours before his murder, only to discover that it was a fake.
At some point, Umbridge received a locket as a bribe from thief Mundungus Fletcher. The pendant was actually Salazar Slytherin's locket and was, unbeknownst to her, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
In this book, Rowling reveals that Bellatrix is the guardian of Helga Hufflepuff's cup (though she is unaware that it is a Horcrux), which Voldemort has entrusted the Lestranges to keep in their Gringotts vault.
Yup, that's right: when the Death Eaters killed Mad-Eye, and then took over the Ministry, they apparently gave Mad-Eye's "mad eye" to Umbridge. Who then installed it in her door to use as a way of spying on her fellow wizards.
No, she is not a death eater, but many of her views fall within those of Voldemort's plans. For instance: Magic is Might - Voldemort and the Death Eaters want to establish wizard power and authority over muggles.
Question number one: Why didn't Dumbledore just give the sword of Gryffindor to Harry instead of leaving it to him in his will? He knew even before his death that Harry would need the sword to destroy Horcruxes, and he must have known that the Ministry would not let Harry get the sword.
'Master Regulus told Kreacher to come back,' he repeated. Though he had trodden too far down a dark path, Regulus was still a smart guy. After all, he was the one who deduced that the locket had become a Horcrux, knew it meant Voldemort was no longer 'mortal' and that it had to be destroyed.
Regulus Black is the boyfriend and later on husband to half-blood classmate Hestia Jones. Regulus becomes the father to Renee Black after his school years. From 1972 to 1979 he attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Slytherin House.
As far as I can remember, Voldemort did not know Regulus "betrayed" him. Regulus wrote that in the letter he put in the locket, and the locket never found its way back to Voldemort.
After becoming a Death Eater, Regulus began to consider abandoning Lord Voldemort, partly because his master mistreated and intended to kill the Black family's loyal house-elf Kreacher whilst setting up the security measures for one of his Horcruxes.
Her real parents were Daneel and Dean Novak, Pureblooded wizards. Turns out Daneel was Tom Riddles younger sister, Daneel Riddle. Of course, the Riddles were related to Salzar Slytherin himself, and this made Hermione the living heir of Slytherin. The problem with being a female Slytherin heir, is that they're cursed.
Quirrell is, in effect, turned into a temporary Horcrux by Voldemort. He is greatly depleted by the physical strain of fighting the far stronger, evil soul inside him.
So when Ron said three, it wasn't a mistake. He meant there were three more horcruxes to destroy before being able to destroy the fourth and final piece which was in fact Voldemort himself.
Snape just pretended to give the sword of Gryffindor to Bellatrix, and gave her a fake one, which was a copy of the original sword. He did so, so that Voldemort would trust him.
“Dumbledore didn't want to lose his wand at that point and Draco disarmed him. So that meant that the wand gave Draco its allegiance, even though Draco never knew it, even though Draco never touched it. “From that moment on, that wand gave its allegiance to Draco, and it wouldn't work as well for anyone but Draco.”
He finds out for sure immediately after Nagini's attack on Arthur Weasley. This night is significant in many ways. While Harry sleeps, he enters Nagini's mind.
Bellatrix Lestrange (née Black) is the first female Death Eater introduced in the books. Aunt of Draco Malfoy and Nymphadora Tonks. She was introduced in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She is the most faithful member of Voldemort's inner circle.
That makes Hagrid one of just three non-Death Eaters - the others being Dumbledore himself and Horace Slughorn - who associated the handsome and charismatic Tom Riddle with the monstrous Lord Voldemort.
His eyes were a different color in the movie because Daniel Radcliffe couldn't wear contacts. In addition to his black hair, scar, and glasses, the Harry Potter in the books is said to have green eyes. That's an essential part of his Harry Potter charm.
At this moment, Mad-Eye Moody enters the scene, swiftly turning Malfoy into a ferret and causing him to bounce in the hallway, as punishment for attacking when his opponent's back was turned.
Moody's death came at the betrayal of Mundungus, and the moment he disapparated, Moody was struck by a killing curse by Voldemort and fell off his broom to a certain death.
