Oliver Burgess Meredith, known professionally as Burgess Meredith, was an American actor. He was best-known for portraying Rocky Balboa's trainer Mickey Goldmill in the Rocky films and the Penguin in the television series Batman.
Michael "Mickey" Goldmill was the owner of Mighty Mick's Boxing and head Trainer of Rocky Balboa for most of Balboa's career.
He chose Rocky because he liked his fighting name, The Italian Stallion.

Rocky doesn't agree to train Adonis for the initial fight, causing the relationship to be broken for several months, until they mend the fences to work together for the second fight (after the first did not have a proper ending).
By the end of 1975, Rocky had fought in 64 fights, winning 44 (38 KO'S) and losing 20. Rocky was proud that he never had his nose broken in any of his amateur fighting career. His nickname is "The Italian Stallion", spawning from his Italian-American heritage.
