Anakin Skywalker is the son of Shmi Skywalker, born without a father through the Force. He is the secret husband of Padmé Amidala, the father of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, the father-in-law of Han Solo, and the maternal grandfather of Ben Solo.
Anakin was actually the result of immaculate conception, so he doesn't have a father. His mother, Shmi Skywalker, conceived her child without a male partner, and instead Anakin was created through the Force. Yes, that's right, Anakin Skywalker is basically Jesus Christ.
Palpatine being Anakin's "father" is reminiscent of the Emperor being Rey's grandfather, who, as it turns out, was the offspring of a human and a Palpatine clone. There's also another line in the movie that mirrors the cut Revenge of the Sith dialogue.
