In the final post-credit scene of Thor: Love and Thunder, a humiliated Zeus (Russell Crowe) plots his revenge against Thor and the other superheroes who take the worship due to gods. He sends them a god in the form of a hero with his son, Hercules, played by Ted Lasso's Brett Goldstein.
Hercules Panhellenios is the son of Zeus and Alcmena. Following a skirmish with Thor and his team against the Council of Godheads at Omnipotence City, Hercules was tasked by his father with hunting down and killing the God of Thunder.
So it comes as little surprise that the sequel ends with a mid-credits scene that introduces the most famous Olympian of them all - Hercules. And it turns out Herc is played by none other than Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein. (Click this way for our full Thor: Love and Thunder Ending Explained.)
It means that, as of now, Thor is the brother of the Titan Kronos, and the Uncle of Zeus… making him the Great Uncle of Hercules!
Zeus split the immortal away from his mortal body, allowing the "shade" to fall into the Underworld, and letting Hercules become a full God. Hercules took his place as the Olympian God of strength, labors, and heroes, and married Hebe to make amends with Hera.
Well, it's about even. Hercules' strength is rarely matched. There were times when he even overpowered the Incredible Hulk – a feat that not even Thor could complete. So, when it comes to physical strength, Hercules is the strongest.
The legendary Greek demigod and Prince of Power Hercules is a long-time Avenger and nigh-invincible, fighting on the side of good. 325 lbs. Publicly known; however, not all modern day Earth people believe Hercules is the actual Hercules of myth.
In the comics, Zeus was depicted as a mentor to a young Thor. Out of the respect and friendship between Zeus and Thor's father, Odin, the two shared a deep friendship. Once Odin died, Zeus acted as a father figure and advisor. The film depicts the two at odds, with them trying to kill each other.
Thor is the son of Odin, the god of wisdom, poetry, healing, and death. Odin is also known as being the ruler of the gods. Thor's mother is Jord, the personification of earth.
Odin has pretty clearly been shown to be demonstrable more powerful than the other gods. Odin's Odinforce has far outstripped anything Zeus's magical lightning bolts have ever done.
In the prequel Marvel Zombies: Dead Days, Hercules was one of several heroes who survived the zombie plague. However, he is later crushed to death by a zombified Hulk.
Painful Death
Hercules then asked for help from the gods to end his life, and he received it. The Greek god Zeus sent lightning to consume Hercules' mortal body and took him to live with the gods on Mount Olympus. This was the apotheosis, the transformation of Hercules into a god.
During the moment, Zeus is going on about how humanity has forgotten gods in favor of superheroes and is ready to take revenge on Thor. As the camera pans out, we see Hercules rise ready to take on the challenge of bringing Thor down in the name of his father.
It was also readily apparent that the two were evenly matched. So much so that Zeus saw the need to intervene, and he insisted that Thor and Hercules clasp hands and part as friends. In the subsequent years, Hercules and Thor have teamed up on many occasions and their friendship is genuine.
Loki is an Asgardian God. Loki formed a pact with a force of darkness (presumably Dahak) to bring about the three tragedies that would herald Ragnarok. Loki who stole the Book of Fate from the Norn and painted a future in which Balder was dead (first tragedy).
Hercules possesses the greatest strength of all the Olympians and is stronger than even his father, Zeus. His strength exceeds that of most other powerful Marvel Comics icons, which he proved when he took away Mjölnir from a Thor clone in Civil War, one of the best Marvel Comics events.
Who is older, Zeus or Odin? Since Odin is credited with having a hand in creating the world itself, it is safe to say that he is older than Zeus. However, the first written accounts of Zeus are much earlier than the first ones we have of Odin.
DEATH OF THE OLYMPIANS
During antiquity, Zeus had imprisoned the night goddess, Nyx, for eternity...or so he thought. When Nyx escaped, she wasted no time and attacked the Olympians. She slew every god in Olympus, including Zeus himself, while on her quest to restore her full power.
Chronologically speaking, most scholars contest that Odin was created before Zeus . The earliest evidence for worship of Zeus goes back before 500 BCE, but Odin is attested by various Germanic tribes as far back as the 12th century BCE.
Thor wanted Zeus and the other gods to help him fight Gorr the Godbutcher (Christian Bale), who—as you can perhaps guess from his name—poses a threat to all the gods. Zeus is uninterested in helping. Thor then kills Zeus using Zeus' own thunderbolt, which (frankly) feels like a bit of an overreaction.
Thor (from Old Norse: Þórr) is a prominent god in Germanic paganism. In Norse mythology, he is a hammer-wielding god associated with lightning, thunder, storms, sacred groves and trees, strength, the protection of humankind, hallowing, and fertility.
The Hulk is clearly more powerful than his godlike opponent, but the problem is that he can't really land a solid blow on him. Hercules takes a few hits, but it's nothing he can't get up from or counter into his own attack.
The actual strongest Avenger is neither Thor nor the Hulk, but Hercules, and the Prince of Power has proven it by beating them both many times. The title of strongest Avenger is often contested among powerhouses such as Thor and Hulk, but it actually belongs to someone else: Hercules, the Prince of Power.
Hercules' weakness was his temper and lack of intelligence. He was notorious for getting himself into trouble because of his temper.
