Wednesday's mystery involves a monster hunting down its students and a secret overseer controlling said monster. Throughout the show, we learn that the monster is actually Tyler, Wednesday's first-ever crush, who possesses the ability to turn into a ravenous beast on demand.
Garrett Gates was a normie who was infatuated with Morticia Addams and would regularly stalk her. He was the son of Ansel Gates and the brother of Laurel Gates. He was the descendant of Joseph Crackstone. He died on either 21 or 22 October 1990 at 18 years old.
This is where our suspicions that Laurel Gates texted Wednesday stem from. Given that she wasn't able to carry out her mission of killing Wednesday at the end of Season 1, if Gates did survive the bee and foot attack, the character has more than enough motive to complete her quest of murdering Wednesday.
We know for a fact Tyler is not the type of evil he's been painted as being, which raises the issue of whether Wednesday season 2 will allow for his redemption. On one hand, Tyler may be saved if he manages to overcome what has been done to him and is shown to be a better person than we thought during the first season.
Within her first week at Nevermore Academy, Wednesday reunites with Xavier Thorpe, who she actually knew from childhood. He's the ex-boyfriend of Nevermore's Queen Bee, Bianca Barclay, but becomes intrigued by Wednesday's presence at the school.
Kinbott is killed by the Hyde and Tyler is revealed to be the Monster, Wednesday learns that Marilyn Thornhill, a botany teacher at Nevermore (who is played by Christina Ricci, who also played Wednesday in 1991's The Addams Family movie), is the Monster's master.
Wednesday Was Never Romantically Interested In Xavier
Though Xavier obviously cared about Wednesday and tried to remain friends with her following the first accusations, there was no romantic connection between them.
He had a prejudice against Wednesday's whole family, especially her father, Gomez Addams. He considered him responsible for the murder of Garrett Gates, even though his guilt hadn't been proven by the authorities.
Hyde was unleashed through the serum, Tyler's monster in Wednesday is controlled by a master, Laurel Gates, who learns how to give orders to the Hyde, triggering the transformation when needed.
I think so. Sheriff Galpin knows the truth about his son, and it's his worst fear come true: That he's just like his mom.
As an avid painter, Xavier has been having visions of the Hyde, which he paints, but Wednesday believes this is due to him being the Hyde. Like Wednesday's supernatural power being visions, Xavier tells Wednesday that he has dreams of the Hyde, which he then paints.
Episode 7 ended with a big moment for the show, the kiss between Wednesday and "normie" barista Tyler. Unfortunately, the teen's first kiss also leads to one of her visions, which reveals that Tyler is actually the Hyde, the monster in the woods that has been killing people and taking body parts all season.
It was Tyler all along....
Turns out, the monster/murderer that Wednesday has been investigating during her tenure at Nevermore Academy is none other than her seemingly normie crush and latte boy Tyler and not her moodier, also a potential love interest, Xavier.
Perhaps the most obvious Easter egg in Wednesday is the double finger snap, a pretty clear reference to the classic Addams Family theme song. In order to open the secret passageway to the Nightshade's meeting room, Wednesday has to snap her fingers twice, rhythmically.
He then explains that his mother had warned him that Wednesday would destroy the school and that he had to kill her. As he strangles the girl even more, the monster emerges and throws Rowan backwards before savagely killing him. In the following episode, Wednesday alerts Mrs.
Tyler Galpin is the monster aka the hyde in the series Wednesday. Disclaimer: The information below consists of major spoilers for the Netflix series Wednesday. In episode seven "If You Don't Woe Me by Now", it was revealed that the hyde is none other than Wednesday Addams' love interest, Tyler Galpin.
When Dr. Kinbott got too close to the truth, Thornhill sent Tyler morphed into the monster to kill her and pin it on Xavier, leaving Kimbott's necklace in his art studio where he painted his disturbing psychic visions of the beast.
Together, Laurel and Tyler were responsible for the murders and attacks against the students of Nevermore and the townspeople of Jericho.
One of Wednesday's psychic visions reveals that Tyler is the monster, and he later confesses that his feelings for Wednesday were never real as he was compelled by his master — Marilyn Thornhill a.k.a. Laurel Gates (Christina Ricci) — to get close to her.
When the sheriff develops a picture of the Hyde at the end of episode 3, he is not shocked by the image of the monster — he knows it well. He recognizes what the Hyde looks like because his wife was a Hyde. From that moment on, he realizes that his son is behind the latest batch of murders he is investigating.
That's right! Thornhill was the real Laurel, not Kinbott, and she used a plant-based serum to get Tyler, whom she took a liking to, on her side and groom him.
Joy Sunday, who stars as Bianca Barclay in the Netflix series Wednesday, has an unattainable crush. Though the actor's character has enough of a woeful time winning the affections of Wednesday's Xavier (Percy Hynes White), even Bianca's siren song isn't going to win her the heart of this literary hero.
Before she leaves, Xavier forgives Wednesday for thinking he was the Hyde and getting him arrested.
One of the key elements of Wednesday Addams' story in Wednesday season 1 is her budding psychic powers. Wednesday reveals that she's been experiencing powerful visions for the past year, but they come on very suddenly and she doesn't know how to control them.
