Ismael's Arondir is a big deal for two big reasons. He's the first Black elf in any adaptation of Tolkien's works thus far.
Ismael Cruz Córdova knew playing a Black elf in Amazon's Lord of the Rings series The Ring of Power was going to be met with backlash, which only made him want it more.
I think most of the objections have been against Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova), who is the Black elf. He's one of the immortal elves of Tolkien's legendarium. The legendarium is, broadly speaking, the lore behind the universe explored in Tolkien's books.
