The unique shape of the
Chewbacca speaks only in his native language, Shyriiwook (which sounds like animal sound growls); he is able to understand English, but is physically unable to speak it. Han Solo, likewise, also understands Shyriiwook perfectly.
Language. The most common Wookiee language is Shyriiwook. However, other dialects used by Wookiees from Kashyyyk are Thykarann and Xaczik. Wookiees are capable of understanding Galactic Basic, but generally none are able to speak it because of the structure of Wookiee vocal cords.
During his tenure with Shrike, Han met Dewlannamapia, who raised him as her own and even taught him Shyriiwook, a language he'd never forget. It's important to note that Star Wars' Han Solo can understand the Wookiee language more than he can speak it.
Dewlannamapia taught Han to speak and understand the Wookiee language of Shyriiwook.
As the theory explains, Wookiee culture dictates that when Wookiees lose a loved one, they are not supposed to touch anyone until they have had time to grieve in private. This explains Chewbacca's actions.
That's right, Chewbacca and Obi-Wan have a history together, as they fought side by side in this conflict. In fact, with Obi-Wan's help, Chewbacca successfully colonized Alaris Prime and turned it into an economically prosperous stronghold for the Wookiees beyond their home planet of Kashyyyk.
Chewbacca swore a Wookiee life debt to Han Solo for freeing him from captivity by the Galactic Empire in Mimban. Mercenary Fennec Shand swore a life debt to former bounty hunter Boba Fett after he saved her life in the sands of Tatooine.
The movies don't really focus on this. They are all pretty much the standard "above average intelligence of a blockbuster movie protagonist". And so is Chewie imo. 85.
Following Han's death, the Wookiee continued piloting the Millennium Falcon, especially when it involved Rey's various missions. When the First Order and the Sith Eternal forces were decimated, Chewbacca was given Han's old medal of honor.
Wookiees had an average lifespan of 400 standard years, and they appeared not to age over a span of fifty years. Their lifespans dramatically decreased due to the harsh working conditions in the spice mines of Kessel.
Once a rare example of a Wookiee in the Jedi Order, Gungi is also among the few to survive Order 66. As a youngling, Gungi was temperamental and expressive.
Like many other humanoids, the Wookiees had two sexes, male and female. Female Wookiees had six breasts and gave birth to live young, with their gestation period nearly a year long. Wookiee pups were large at birth, averaging slightly less than one meter.
8 CHEWBACCA'S PANTS
In fact, Chewbacca's clothes (or lack thereof) turned into a major problem for 20th Century Fox. In his initial designs for Chewbacca, McQuarrie drew clothes on, including a flak jacket and shorts. Lucas always took them out, because he wanted his hero au naturel.
Affiliation(s) Mallatobuck, also known as Malla, was the wife of Chewbacca, the Wookiee co-pilot of the Corellian smuggler Han Solo. During the Imperial Era, Malla and her family were enslaved by the Galactic Empire. She was separated from her husband Chewbacca and her son Lumpawaroo.
Chewbacca had a wife named Mallatobuck and a son named Lumpawaroo. During the Imperial Era, Chewbacca was enslaved by Trandoshans. "Malla" and their son "Waroo" were also enslaved by the Galactic Empire and were put into an Imperial slave labor camp on their homeworld of Kashyyyk.
1 Grand Admiral Thrawn, the ultimate strategist.
Yoda, everyone's favorite green Jedi from Star Wars, is known for being incredibly emotionally intelligent. Throughout Star Wars, Yoda appears as a guide and mentor to many of the other characters who turn to him for his wisdom.
Who's the most intelligent person in Star Wars? Grand Admiral Thrawn. The most prominent member of the Imperial Navy apart from Grand Moff Tarkin, he was respected within the Galactic Empire for his combat prowess and incredible abilities to predict the enemy's movements by analyzing data others thought to be useless.
Han dying at his son's hands after reaching out with open arms was already tragic and was made even more heartbreaking as Chewbacca, Rey, and Finn witnessed it happen. Leia also sensed this devastating loss through the Force.
Attichitcuk was the father of the Wookiee Chewbacca, who when introducing himself to Han Solo, referred to himself as "Chewbacca, son of Attichitcuk." He and Chewbacca's mother lived in the city of Rwookrrorro on the planet Kashyyyk. By the year 19 BBY, Attichitcuk was already a light-furred elderly Wookiee.
Peter Mayhew - Chewbacca
The Andy Serkis of his day, if you will, Peter Mayhew brought Chewbacca to life in 'A New Hope' and toiled for endless hours inside a fur-lined suit. His recompense for his hard work? $450 a week.
Obi-Wan greets R2-D2 and later recalls “not owning a droid.” Obi-Wan purposely withheld information from Luke in order to keep Luke from straying away. This could offer an explanation as to why he appears to not know who R2-D2 is. Further in Empire Strikes Back, neither Yoda nor Darth Vader recognizes either droid.
R2-D2 was present when Padmé gave birth to Leia and Luke, so he knew Luke was Anakin's son – but what he didn't know was that Anakin became Darth Vader. In addition to that, Anakin's fall was surely a painful event in R2-D2's life, one that he definitely wouldn't like to remember or even talk about.
As Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Leia were gathered in one location at the same time, Vader and his stormtroopers had the perfect opportunity to take them down. However, because he saw their dynamic as a source of weakness, he opted to spare them.
