Director Chloe Zhao told CinemaBlend that none of the Eternals were snapped away during
The case of the Eternals is a bit special, however. While it is the case that the ensemble of characters featured in director Chloé Zhao's new blockbuster existed when the Mad Titan activated his completed Infinity Gauntlet, it turns out that they were totally unaffected by it due to their special nature.
The Eternals simply are not alive in the sense that Thanos invoked.
If you think about what the Celestials told them about themselves, technically they can't get blipped,” Zhao said.
If you think about it, it makes sense. If you think about it even more it'll give you a headache. The MCU officially expanded a little more last week as Eternals arrived in theaters.
He was created by writer-artist Jim Starlin, and first appeared in The Invincible Iron Man #55 (cover date February 1973). An Eternal–Deviant warlord from the moon Titan, Thanos is regarded as one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe.
The MCU is filled with superpowered beings, but the Eternals are, so far, the most powerful super-team introduced to the universe. While the individual members of the super-team are on the level of many Avengers, if the Eternals work together, not even gods can stop them.
An Eternal getting a Deviant-like mutation was later dubbed “Deviant Syndrome,” or the way Thanos looks with his purple skin and ridged chin. (Of the two sons, he's the only one with this condition; Eros looks like a regular Eternal, something that Thanos naturally hated his brother for.)
The point is, when Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out half of all life, he stopped the Celestials' plan from happening. Sure, half of all humans turned to dust, but half is still better than the entire planet.
Technically, Gilgamesh and Sersi were the first Eternals from Earth to become members of the Avengers. But the first Eternal Avenger was none other than Eros, AKA Starfox. Starfox came to Earth in AVENGERS (1963) #232, and he immediately asked to join the roster.
The Eternals specifically state that they did not interfere with Thanos and his genocidal finger snap due to their sacred mission, which only allowed intervention when the Deviants were involved.
This leaves us with even more questions, since we know for a fact that Thanos—who, by proxy is also an Eternal—is Snap-susceptible, per the climactic moment of Avengers: Endgame.
Arishem may have calculated a simple cost benefit analysis and determined that opposing Thanos given all of the aforementioned conditions simply wasn't worth taking the risk to himself. There is also the matter of the battleground itself.
Later in the movie, it's revealed the real reason the Eternals didn't interfere in Infinity War or Endgame is because they were secretly paving the way for the Emergence, allowing the Celestial Tiamut to rise on Earth.
There are only two known means by which Earth Eternals can die. One is through an injury that disperses a significant portion of the Eternal's body molecules; the other involves overwhelming and breaking the Eternal's mental hold over his or her own body.
The Final Snap — Thanos wiped half the universal population away with the snap of his fingers. The Hulk rectified that mistake with a second snap. But a third snap was the final one: Tony Stark using the Infinity Stones to defeat the Mad Titan and his goons once and for all.
Portrayed by. Peter Jason Quill is a Celestial-Human hybrid who was abducted from Earth in 1988 by the Yondu Ravager Clan, and raised as one of their members, eventually building a reputation as the notorious intergalactic outlaw Star-Lord.
Avengers: Endgame proved Scarlet Witch could beat Thanos on her own, but WandaVision confirmed she has become even more powerful than a Celestial.
Well, as Eternals reveals, when Thanos snapped his finger and wiped out half of all life in the universe, that set back the Celestials plans. All of a sudden, there wasn't enough intelligent life to power the growth of new Celestials. That means Thanos essentially saved the Earth from potential doom.
That's why Thanos looks like a giant purple guy; Thanos' Deviant gene deformed his appearance. On the other hand, Eros looks like a regular human, just like other Eternals, because they belong to the same evolutionary path.
The Ten Rings, after all, are circular in design, like much of the technology utilized by the Eternals. They also appear to be energy-based in their use, much like the tools and weapons used by the Eternals are fueled by cosmic energy.
So, Starfox is a Titanian and an Eternal, just like his brother Thanos. Thanos, however, inherited the Deviant gene, which caused him to look purple and deformed.
The 26th Marvel flick Eternals has finished its run in the North American theatres and has been distinguished as the second-lowest grossing film of the MCU.
7/10 WOULD DEFEAT THEM: Ego Is A Celestial Whose Cosmic Powers Far Outclass The Eternals.
If the Eternals were to battle the Avengers in 2012 around the time of the battle of New York, they might win this duel, but in any other instance, the combined power of Thor and the Hulk alone will eventually win out against the MCU Celestial Arishem's Eternal constructs.
