Kimiko has already expressed this season that she wished she never had powers and yearned for a normal life; it's clearer than ever that she hates being a killer and hates the violence she's capable of. She got her wish after her encounter with
She pushes him out of the way, absorbing the full brunt of the blast. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue for Kimiko, given her healing powers. However, to Frenchie's horror, Kimiko's extensive wounds don't heal after Soldier's Boy's blast. Somehow, the beam took away Kimiko's powers.
Released from his metal casket, Soldier Boy attacked the Boys with a strange energy power he definitely didn't possess back in 1984. Likely the result of scientific fiddling, this radioactive blast doesn't just knock its target through a concrete wall, it nullifies Kimiko's Compound-V gifts completely.
Kimiko's Powers Explained
She's certainly not a "supe" in the traditional sense, but she does possess inhuman strength, enhanced toughness, and improved agility and speed, and these abilities are permanent, rather than when her colleagues in The Boys take a hit of Compound V for a temporary boost.
The Boys season 3, episode 5 confirms that, as a direct result of Soldier Boy's energy wave, Kimiko's Compound-V powers have stopped working.
Even though Soldier Boy could not take down Homelander with the help of Hughie and Butcher (Karl Urban) using temporary doses of Compound V, it was abundantly clear that he is still the closest anyone has been to the individual strength of Homelander.
However, viewers will likely wonder why Black Noir's healing powers have not helped him recover from these injuries. He has healed from a variety of severe injuries throughout the duration of The Boys, but Black Noir's scars are too severe for even him to overcome.
Similar to Female of the Species, the Frenchman's use of Compound V has given him abilities such as increased strength, smell and increased durability.
Superhuman Durability: Black Noir is more resilient than normal humans, which notably allowed him to withstand the superhuman strength of Kimiko without issue, whereas she was able to significantly damage A-Train and even give him a compound fracture.
However, a fight in The Boys season 3 episode "Herogasm" makes it appear for a moment as though Kimiko's powers may have returned. Ultimately, they didn't, but she proved she is still a force to be reckoned with. Little Nina has Kimiko captured in order to get back at Frenchie for his repeated failures.
In theory, Soldier Boy should be able to kill Homelander, assuming his power affects Homelander the same way it affected Kimiko. But there's no guarantee; Homelander could get wind of the attempt and kill everybody before they try something.
Although Hughie is angry at Butcher, he soon comes to accept his powers (which are permanent) of improved strength and durability.
Since he hates himself, Soldier Boy cannot help but despise Homelander for being "a disappointment" just like him, which explains why he refuses to join forces with him.
Season 2 not only explores Kimiko's backstory but also reunites her with her brother Kenji, although briefly. Kenji (who can talk) explains that the trauma of seeing her parents violently killed caused Kimiko to stop speaking at an early age, something she has carried on into her adult life.
Kimiko is the strongest hero of The Boys, with heightened levels of superhuman strength, durability, speed, and reflexes. She also possesses an accelerated healing factor that allows her to heal almost as fast as she's injured.
Things might not stay that way for long, though; Kimiko writes to Annie that she needs Compound V, and she wants Annie to get it.
“Homelander is basically the weakest character in the show. So he's constantly covering that up and covering up the fact that he's actually incredibly vulnerable, and ultimately weak, even though he's the physically strongest person on the show.” Starr admits.
Gumchum doesn't do anything else in the series besides off his fellow Supes gum. It's his sole purpose. He might be the worst hero in terms of powers and abilities in The Boys, as he's effectively useless in battle.
Starlight is the one member of The Seven who has genuinely good intentions and wants to help people. Unfortunately for her, she's not the most powerful member of the team, so she has to work with others to influence The Seven from the inside and stop her villainous co-members from committing evil.
Aging. Whilst some Supes such as Stormfront and Soldier Boy don't age than their human counterparts, the average Supe ages almost identically as the average person.
During his championship, Mother's Milk discovered the powers afforded to him thanks to the Compound V — these included superhuman strength, agility, stamina and durability. Not long after accidentally using these powers to kill someone, he was approached by Billy Butcher and joined the Boys.
Frenchie and Kimiko talk about their kiss, and agree that it didn't feel weird because it was a bad kiss, or because they don't love each other, but it's familial love, not romantic.
Homelander Kills Noir
It's a sad and shocking way to see this silent yet relatively good (in Boys/Payback terms anyway) character go. And he exhibits no remorse for it at all. He even goes on to admit what he did in front of Ashley, A-Train, and the Deep before essentially disowning them too.
History. Black Noir was a direct clone of Homelander, created by Vought as a fail-safe to kill Homelander if he ever overstepped his bounds. However, years passed and Black Noir was unable to fulfil the one purpose he was created for as Homelander was implied to have been a generally good person.
During Payback's fight against Soldier Boy, Black Noir received catastrophic brain injuries that left him both unable to verbally communicate and saddled with bizarre hallucinations of cartoon animals.
