But during the journey, he had scoffed at Thor's love for a mortal and later tricks Malekith to draw the Aether out of her. And perhaps he was aware that
Eventually, they both meet in "Thor-2" events, where Jane slaps Loki and Loki claims "I like her"; however, after this event, their relationship is hardly developed due the amount of cut off scenes in the final movie montage. Loki, however, saves Jane's life twice.
When Thor and Loki went to New York to find Odin in Ragnarok, a starstruck fan told him, “Sorry to hear that Jane dumped you.” After this passing mention of the couple's breakup, Thor tried to save face and explain to Loki that the end of his relationship with Jane was mutual.
Thor Odinson initially suspects Jane might be this new hero. But he eliminates her from his list of suspects because she is going through chemotherapy for breast cancer, which, he reasons, would make her too weak to fight.
He Blamed Himself For Frigga's Death
Loki later learned that his mother was killed during the invasion while he was stuck in his prison and the battle raged around him. He was devasted by the news.
He's not selfish like the other Loki variants. He does have a glorious purpose, and it's giving up his life to help others. He laughs because of the absurdity of it all. The moment is also a callback to the character's origins in the Marvel comic books.
Odin takes Thor's hammer Mjølnir and uses it to channel a burst of Odinforce that broke apart Thor's armor and pushed him into the Bifrost. After Loki angrily yelled at his adoptive father for not informing him of his true nature, Odin collapsed in shock.
In a moment of wistful affection for his girlfriend, Thor asked his trusty hammer to always protect Jane, and in doing so unwittingly enchanted Mjolnir to do just that. Just like Thor's father Odin once enchanted the hammer to only be lifted by someone who is worthy, Thor cast a spell that let Jane use its powers.
The chemotherapy is attacking the cancerous cells but Mjolnir doesn't identify the cancer as an illness just as another part of her it needs to protect. Plus chemotherapy really does weaken Jane and make her sick so it's easy to see as an illness on it's own.
However, the film also implies that the hammer only sees Jane as worthy because Thor unintentionally revised the rules of Mjölnir, giving it the power to protect her. Captain America didn't need anything special for the hammer to see him as worthy – he's able to wield it without issue in Avengers: Endgame.
Thor is a superhero who has been appearing in Marvel Comics since his 1962 debut, and Jane Foster was his first love interest.
When Jane arrived on Asgard, Sif glared at her, clearly jealous of her, but none the less helped Thor escape with her to the Dark World with Loki. She was presumably charged with treason because of her involvement, but released due to Thor's action on Earth.
But which one? In Thor: Love and Thunder, Chris Hemsworth's Thor reunites with ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) as they face Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), a terrifying alien capable of slaying gods. Jane is also battling stage four cancer, which not even possession of Mjolnir can cure.
Who are Loki's offspring? With the female giant Angerboda (Angrboda: “Distress Bringer”), Loki produced the progeny Hel, the goddess of death; Jörmungand, the serpent that surrounds the world; and Fenrir (Fenrisúlfr), the wolf. Loki is also credited with giving birth to Sleipnir, Odin's eight-legged horse.
The hammer remained unattended on the Moon, from where it telepathically sought Jane out. Jane eventually gave in to the hammer's call, and requested Heimdall to take her to the hammer's location. Once there, Jane picked up Mjolnir, gaining Thor's powers and transforming and improving her physique.
Upon saving Asgard from Ragnarok, Odin forces her to relinquish the hammer to Donald Blake so he can become the new Thor. This resulted in Jane losing her powers, but she was allowed to remain on Asgard and keep her goddess status since she later falls in love with and marries Thor.
Despite her previous prominence in the MCU, Jane canonically broke up with Thor after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron – a development many external observers attributed to actress Natalie Portman's fractious relationship with Marvel.
Is Thor still worthy in Thor: Love and Thunder? It is pretty clear that Mjolnir chose Jane, not because Thor was unworthy, but because Thor's oath had instructed it do so. Sadly, the hammer cannot cure Jane's cancer, and can only transform and temporarily empower her.
A happy-go-lucky, ABBA-soundtracked montage, the scene features Thor making Mjolnir promise that it will always protect Jane, no matter what — even if it means coming back from the “dead” after being smashed to pieces by his villainous sister Hela.
After War Thor's defeat, Jane ended up taking his cursed weapon into battle herself, knowing full well that it was on the verge of breaking, and when it ultimately shattered, she was helpless to stop the strange energies trapped within it from bonding with her.
But due to Thor's confidence issues after its destruction, there was a brief window where Jane could have inadvertently conjured the lightning into Mjolnir again. In that window where Thor was hammerless, her own will could have pulled the pieces back together and been the reason that she became the new wielder.
After Odin's death, Loki did not revert to his blue Frost Giant form, possibly due to Odin's magic being so powerful that it persisted after he died.
The most powerful Thor variant is Ultimate Thor, who's real name is Thorlief Golmen. Golmen discovers he is the most recent reincarnation of Thor Odinson and begins his journey as the new God of Thunder. This version of Thor was less reliant on Mjolnir as a power source.
Odin's abuse of both Loki and Thor, by contrast, is born of, at best, narcissism and at worst, malice. These are things that are less likely to change even if he could be made to see that his actions have been harmful.
He collected his best verbal insults and began hurtling them at those around him. None of the gods escaped his scathing tongue. He called Thor a coward, Odin a heretic, Frigg (Odin's wife) a whore, Freya an incestuous witch and Tyr a cuckold.
