Seeking her own freedom, she led a rebellion, declared war on the Gem Homeworld and the Diamonds, and risked thousands of lives. She faked her own shattering and let her Homeworld family mourn for thousands of years. She told neither the Homeworld Gems nor her surviving followers on Earth who she really was.
The episode focuses on Steven Universe confronting Pearl with questions about the supposed assassination of Pink Diamond millennia ago, and builds to a major plot twist for the series: the revelation that Steven's mother Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond herself, who faked her death with Pearl's assistance.
As her plans escalated into an all-out war, Pink faked her own shattering in an effort to finally drive Homeworld away from Earth, taking on Rose's appearance as her default form afterwards.
Rose later developed a romantic relationship with the human Greg Universe before giving up her physical form to give birth to their son Steven, who inherited her gemstone thus making her part of him.
However in "A Single Pale Rose", Rose Quartz was actually revealed to be Pink Diamond and it's also revealed that her shattering was fake the entire time in order to stop Earth's colonization one final time after Blue and Yellow Diamond would not let her abandon the colony.
As a gem, Rose Quartz couldn't have a child with her human partner in a traditional sense and ultimately had to give up her physical form for Steven to be born. As a result, Steven is placed up on a pedestal with expectations at his feet.
Rose shape-shifted a reproductive system in order to get pregnant and give birth to Steven. Why, in Steven Universe, did Rose Quartz choose Greg over the other men to have a child with? More like greg choose to fuse with rose.
Q. Are the twins actual twins? Yes, they were both conceived by Greg and Rose without Pearl's involvement. Rose was pregnant with them both.
There are dozens of examples in the show that hint at the idea that Rose Quartz wasn't exactly a great role model, least of which was the revelation that she was actually Pink Diamond, one of four evil space queens whose imperial motives terraformed thousands of planets across the galaxy, but even as Steven learned ...
She has trouble coping with Steven's growth into his powers. She still resents Greg, and the idea that Rose kept secrets from her nearly destroys her in “Rose's Scabbard.” Yes, Pearl loved Rose deeply, and Steven's presence is a constant reminder that Rose didn't love her in quite the same way.
Ostensibly, Rose started an intergalactic war to stop the Diamonds from destroying all life on Earth, but really Rose just liked to bang the way humans do, and if Earth was destroyed, so too would be freaky humans. In the end, her decision wasn't altruistic at all, but rather the result of libidinous aims.
These constructs are made stable by their gemstones, and once she gave birth to Steven, he would merely fade out of existence, so she sacrificed her physical form and passed her gemstone into him, stabilizing his form.
In the show, Steven is the son of Greg Universe, a human musician, and Rose Quartz, the former leader of the Crystal Gems. Rose is described as having "given up her physical form to bring [Steven] into the world" as the first Gem-human hybrid, and her gemstone is embedded in his navel.
Even though the other Diamonds might have spent thousands of years looking at Pink as being their lesser, younger sister who was never going to be properly equipped to manage her own colonies, they all loved her and wanted more for her.
He is the first and only known Gem–human hybrid, the product of the union between the Crystal Gems' original leader, Rose Quartz, and Greg Universe, a human musician and car-wash owner. Rose "gave up her physical form" to create Steven, leaving behind only her pink, pentagonal-faceted gem, now embedded in his navel.
Pink diamond/Rose Quartz didn't reform because she is dead. There are various points across the series, but especially this episode that makes it clear this is the case.
Steven is her son, whom she passed her gemstone to. He originally thought Pink Diamond was shattered by his mother "Rose Quartz", not knowing the two were the same person.
White Diamond is the main antagonist of the Cartoon Network TV series Steven Universe. She is supreme matriarch of the Homeworld Gem, the leader and founder of the Great Diamond Authority, outranking even Yellow Diamond, Blue Diamond and, prior to Era 2, Pink Diamond.
Pink Pearl is a Homeworld Gem and minor antagonist and supporting character of Steven Universe: Diamond Days. She is the former servant of Pink Diamond and controlled servant of White Diamond. She only appeared in "Legs From Here to Homeworld", "Together Alone", and "Change Your Mind" in Diamond Days.
She also assured Steven in a video she left behind that when he loves being himself, it is really Rose loving Steven and loving being a part of him. According to Garnet, Steven is a "fusion of love".
Pearl love Rose and was jealous at Greg because she see him as her rival. In The Message, After Greg fails to get Wailing Stone work, She disrespected him and say "What a waste of time" and she didn't even say thank you to Greg after he finally get Wailing Stone work!
Rose liked greg because he made her laugh and showed her a whole new way of life; music. Which makes sense in the whole idea of entertainment with pink diamond. Greg admited he loved her.
Pre-Series. Lion was once a normal wild lion, presumably owned by Rose Quartz in the desert hundreds of years ago (where he would have briefly met Buddy Buddwick when he traveled into the desert). After dying through unknown means, Lion was resurrected by Rose, granting him pink skin and magical abilities.
This means that Greg was not the first human she had relations with. No, going back to when Greg is telling Steven and Connie of the time he tried to fuse with Rose, Rose says she has loved other humans, but never fallen in love with one.
