The Russo brothers, who directed Infinity War and Endgame, once said that Wanda intentionally dropped the accent because she was training to be a spy and the accent would give her away.
And Wanda's accent ends up being a potent symbol of all the loss and humiliation she's suffered throughout her life. It's no wonder that as soon as she creates the false Westview, her Sokovian accent is replaced with an American one.
She explained that the absence of Wanda's accent was due to her mastering it after spending so much time living in the States.
By the time she stood beside Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War, however, her accent was quite diminished. Some fans felt the reduction of the accent—which continued in subsequent films like Avengers: Infinity War—took something away from the character.
"The Sokovia accent was created by me and Aaron [Taylor-Johnson] and our dialect coach because it's a fake country and we could find different sources of Slavic sounds," Olsen said. "We wanted to make sure it didn't sound Russian because Black Widow speaks Russian, and so we just needed to sound more like Slovakian.
Wanda's accent disappeared with purpose and also - it's not totally gone. Here's how she put it: “So, the Sokovia accent was created by me and Aaron and our dialect coach because it's a fake country and we could find different sources of Slavic sounds.
In her first proper appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Olsen played the character with a thick accent inspired by Wanda's fictional home of Sokovia. Yet in all of her subsequent appearances, and in WandaVision, Olsen speaks with an ordinary American accent. Olsen has now explained the switch was deliberate.
It could be reflective of her journey towards assuming the role of Scarlet Witch. (More on that in a bit.) Or it could denote her closeness to Vision; she's in a relationship with him by Infinity War, and Vision's costume is red. Regardless, the red appears to be her signature hair color going forward.
In "Wandavision," she faces off against a witch named Agatha Harkness, whose hands also become stained after trying to absorb Wanda's chaos magic. It's likely Wanda's hands are also becoming stained because she's been studying the dark arts.
Fans might have a hard time remembering this, but at the start of her MCU journey in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, had a very heavy foreign accent, since she is supposed to be from the fictional land of Sokovia, in Russia.
Just some face primer and a lot of foundation to tone in the skin and hide the blemishes. They made her look more mature. There is no bronzing, or contour to speak of. Her face is no longer made of dark lines and hard edges.
Sokovian is a West-Slavic language, closely related to Czech and Slovak. Due to the long Hungarian occupation of the area, the language also includes a number of Hungarian loan-words. Unusually for the region, Sokovian is traditionally written using the Cyrillic, rather than Latin, alphabet.
A distinct accent makes it harder to blend in on spy missions. She'd be used to shifting her accent to match her surroundings in most situations. She chooses not to have one. By choice and people can lose their accents if they are around people with different accents.
As she learned more about her powers and the role of a hero, Wanda found herself attracted to the android Vision and the two soon declared their love for each other, a situation Pietro found intolerable.

Compared to the threat of a Sinister Strange in the making, the Scarlet Witch was only grieving on her terms. Instead of helping her with grief, the sorcerer became an obstacle in her way, which fueled Wanda's rage and made her killing more ruthless than ever.
Wanda is portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, and the audience often sees Wanda's eyes glowing an eerie red colour, when she uses her abilities.
Meanwhile, as the MCU witch with roots to Salem, it makes sense Agatha's magic is purple, as that's the color most traditionally associated with witches.
Wanda's eyes turning red is a manifestation of when she is using her power of reality warping. Her eyes turning red is a character trait that has been held by powerful magic users in the Marvel universe, so it's a sign of her strength and control over her gifts.
