The most probable reason was that the German Army had overstretched its supply lines. The Germans did not have substantial resources to fight an urban battle against thousands of British and French troops.
They lacked spares and equipment, and very few crews had been trained to fight with them. The campaign in France in 1940 quickly revealed how ill-equipped Britain's tank force was. The cruisers and light tanks lacked the armour to withstand German anti-tank guns.
If Germany should decide to invade Sweden, the result would indeed be a costly victory for Hitler because of Germany8s great dependence on exports of Swedish iron ore. Thus the Swedes had in their economy their best weapon against German attack.
London would have fallen. Occupation, establishing a military government and disarming any local British Army or Home Guard units would have been a priority.
Would Germany have won WW2 if the US didn't enter? No but it depended on Germany securing oil supplies and this it failed to do. It may have prolonged it by a few years but eventually the loss of manpower and supplies and facing the huge Soviet forces in the East would mean an eventual collapse or surrender.
The answer is no. By the time Germany surrendered, Soviet forces had already invaded the majority of the country. Even if Germany hadn't surrendered, its ally Japan was under a lot of pressure from the Soviet Union after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
