A narcissist will deliberately hurt you to make you feel weak so that they can feel superior, to regulate their emotions by projecting all of their negative one's onto you, and to bait you into an argument so that they can get more narcissistic supply.
A narcissistic person often continually invalidates other's feelings. Eventually the person doubts most of what he or she feels and thinks. A narcissist distorts a person's empathy and introspectiveness, making him or her think they are character flaws instead of gifts.
Because they know your time is more precious than theirs, and it hurts. In the same amount of time a neurotypical would see a beautiful day, a narcissist would see how much more beautiful the day could be and waste the whole thing. They waste your time because they're angry, bitter, no fun to be around and jealous.
Sense of Superiority
One of the common ways narcissists manage their shaky sense of self-esteem is by comparing themselves to others and convincing themselves that they are better. So, by being or appearing as giving and helpful, they can feel superior to others.
The truth is that nothing can make a narcissist happy, because their agenda of dominance, exploitation and oppression creates an ever-expanding chasm within their soul. The narcissist can take pleasure in the exercise of power and the subjugation of others, but they can't feel happiness from any source.
“As narcissists do not have empathy, they are not able to genuinely care or love you,” explains Davey. Instead, narcissists will only have people in their lives that benefit them; they are very selfish people. “They are number one in their lives.
