One of the superstitions is that having a mirror in your bedroom doubles the type of luck you have and that mirrors are believed to be portals to other dimensions. Believe what you will, but here are some other reasons why having a mirror facing the bed could disrupt a good night's sleep.
Feng Shui Mirrors Facing the Bed
Apparently, the reflection of the mirror doubles the luck and energy on the bed, thus, promoting another person to become a part of a 2-person relationship. Many Feng Shui experts believe that Feng Shui mirrors in the bedroom depletes energy and can cause sleeplessness.
To see a broken vessel, a closed bell is a bad omen in the morning. Seeing these things will worsen your day and a tense atmosphere will follow you everywhere. Similarly, it is considered inauspicious to see face in the mirror as soon as we wake up in the morning. In such a situation, your whole day can be spoilt.
Generally speaking, Feng Shui experts do not recommend placing a mirror directly across from the door leading into your room, but rather on a wall perpendicular to it. If you have placed your bed in the correct commanding position, it means the mirror won't be placed behind the bed but along the side.
For a good health and peaceful sleep, mirrors should be avoided in bedrooms. According to Vastu, if there is a mirror in the bedroom then it should not face the bed. Mirrors should not face the entrance or the entry gate of the house, as they reflect the energy entering the house.
Having a mirror facing the bed can disturb your sleep, especially if you're sensitive to light. Even if the room is dark, any light reflected off the mirror can cause discomfort and prevent you from falling asleep or staying asleep. It could also give you the impression that you are being watched.
Place the mirror in a way that it reflects the light and energizes the surrounding environment. Vastu mirror position is essential, so you should never place a mirror in front of your bed. Doing so can lead to nightmares!
Mirrors in the Bedroom
Master bedroom should be in the south or southwest direction, which is dominated by earth element. Whereas, mirror is water element and is associated with instability.
Most interiors designers agree that you can use a mirror in every room, as long as it is serving a purpose. Having more than one mirror in any room could start to feel like too much. You don't want to make your family or guests uncomfortable by surrounding them with mirrors on every side.
Positioning your bed in line with the door is the worst possible position, according to the principles of Feng shui. People who practice Feng shui call it the 'dead man's position' or the 'coffin position' because the feet or head face the door and resemble how we carry the dead through open doors from the house.
In normal observers, gazing at one's own face in the mirror for a few minutes, at a low illumination level, produces the apparition of strange faces. Observers see distortions of their own faces, but they often see hallucinations like monsters, archetypical faces, faces of relatives and deceased, and animals.
The act of mirror gazing, the compulsive tendency to view and scrutinize oneself in the mirror, can play a major role in those who experience body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). Researchers Joanna Silver and Jacqui Farrants examined this specific feature of BDD, and the results are striking.
The area around the main door should be clean. You must avoid keeping a dustbin, broken stools, or chairs near the entrance as per main door Vastu. Instead, decorate the main entrance with divine symbols like swastikas, om, cross, rangoli, and flowers placed right outside the door.
Then there is the belief that a mirror falling off the wall is said to be a sign that someone is about to die, although it could also be a sign that your nail just wasn't strong enough.
Facing a bed towards a window is a better option than placing your bed underneath it, however, it is still not recommended. In Feng Shui, it is generally believed that, where possible, beds should not be placed directly in line with either a door or windows.

Place Mirrors Perpendicular to the Front Door
Generally speaking, feng shui experts do not recommend placing a mirror directly across from the front door, but rather on a wall perpendicular to it. "The front door is very important in feng shui," The Holistic Home author Laura Benko tells MyDomaine.
If you do nothing else, try NOT to have the bed directly facing the bedroom door. Feng shui experts say you should be facing the door but not be directly in line with it. Placing your bed on the same wall as your door is thought to feel threatening, like someone may wake you in the night.

Removing the television from your bedroom results in more sleep and better sleep… which means you'll have a better rested, more productive day.

If you want to make a room feel brighter, hang mirrors in a location where they can reflect the natural light. Generally, hanging a mirror opposite a window will allow it to reflect the most light but placing a mirror next to a window will also capture and reflect a considerable amount of light too.
Feng Shui mirrors shouldn't be facing the entrance door
Since an entrance has many people leaving and coming in, it has a lot of energy reverberation- some positive and the other negative. Therefore, you should avoid Feng Shui mirrors at this place in the living room to avoid getting a lot of negativity in life.

According to ancient traditions like vastu shastra, the best direction to sleep in is toward the south. This theory is also supported by some recent research . This means that when you lie in bed, your head is pointed south , and your feet are pointed north.
