In the books, Phillip is a widower, and he and Eloise become friends after she sends him a letter of condolences following Marina's death. She spends more time with him at his home with his twins, only for her elder brothers to find out and demand that they wed to protect her honour.
Her elder brother eventually catches them getting cosy and demands the pair wed to protect her honour. In true Bridgerton fashion, they eventually realise they are desperately in love with each other - but will the TV show actually follow the books?
Eloise blames Phillip for “her predicament”, but the couple come to realise that their match isn't “of convenience at all, but a love match.” And, of course, they end up getting married.
Of course, you already knew that if you've read Julia Quinn's Bridgerton novel To Sir Phillip, With Love. In the book, Eloise actually ends up marrying Sir Phillip Crane. Yes, the same Phillip who was married to Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker) in Bridgerton Season 2!
Eloise Bridgerton and Sir Phillip Cane
The printer's assistant with a passion for feminism seems like an ideal mate for Eloise, but it's actually Sir Phillip Crane — the elder brother of Marina Thompson's true love, Sir George — who wins her heart in the books.
Instead of reacting with anger, however, Eloise tells Penelope how proud she is of her (and commends her for realizing that no one, not even Eloise, could have kept a secret of that magnitude for long!). It all ends with the two women confiding in each other again — and teasing each other about whose secret was bigger.
So do Theo and Eloise end up together? According to the novels, no. In fact, Theo Sharpe isn't in the novels at all, and was only created for the TV show.
Lady Eloise Crane (née Bridgerton) is the fifth child and second Bridgerton daughter. She's the wife of Phillip Crane, and the mother of their three children as well as the surrogate mother to his two children from a previous marriage.
Amanda, Phillip's daughter from his first marriage, later marries Charles Farraday. Eloise and Phillip have three children: Penelope, Georgiana, and Frederick.
When she learns of a distant cousin's death, Eloise sends a standard note of condolence to the woman's grieving husband, Sir Phillip Crane – and thus gains a penpal. After some time spent exchanging letters, Sir Phillip proposes that Eloise visit his estate to see if they might be suitable for marriage.
Eloise does not become pregnant in Quinn's second book, but she does become a stepmum in the fifth book titled To Sir Phillip, With Love, where she is considered a “spinster” because she is unmarried at the age of 28.
In his second year, though, George died at Waterloo, making Phillip the heir to his father's baronet. Sir Thomas died two weeks after George, and Phillip inherited the baronet, becoming Sir Phillip.
In the book, Hyacinth falls for Lady Danbury's grandson, Gareth St. Clair, after they work together on translating his old family diary written in Italian. Through their partnership, they develop feelings for each other and end up getting married.
Theo Sharpe has been specifically written for the series and does not appear in the books. However, his addition to the cast of Bridgerton and his relationship with Eloise was a most wonderful idea, indeed.
Violet never married again, and treasured the true love she shared with Edmund.
She's also described as having been the fiancée of George Crane before his death—rather than merely his secret lover, as portrayed in the show—and there's no mention of her carrying his children. Instead, she shares twins with Philip, even though he confesses that "he didn't love her, had never really loved her."
In the present-day "Bridgerton" storyline, Lady Danbury explains that her children are "continents" away. Dominic is also the name of Lady Danbury's eldest son in Julia Quinn's "Bridgerton" books. In the books, Lady Danbury also has four kids in total: Dominic, Cedric, Melissa, and Anne.
Lady Hyacinth St. Clair (née Bridgerton) is the youngest and eighth Bridgerton child. She eventually marries Lady Danbury's grandson, Gareth St. Clair, with whom she has two children, George and Isabella.
While pregnant with Hyacinth, her beloved Edmund tragically died, and Lady Violet was devastated.

She and Theo nearly kissed before she pulled back and made the hard decision to cut him out of her life. Yet when Eloise finally discovered that Penelope is Lady Whistledown, she also realized that her friend had manipulated her to call things off with Theo for her own ends.
After Whistledown exposes Eloise's secret meetups, and at the behest of Penelope, before she learns about her double-life, Eloise ends things with Theo to save him any potential harm or scandal.
