He has many scars on his body, face, neck and jaw from the bites of vampires he fought during his time in Maria's coven.
Though we never hear his thoughts on screen, in "Midnight Sun" Edward notes that Jasper was struggling with his control around humans, and in that moment, he was quite dangerous. Unlike the rest of the vampires, his determination to keep control over his senses was causing him to look stiff and inhuman.
Jasper is the youngest vampire in the Cullen pack so he has the hardest time resisting human blood.
In 1863, Maria transformed the 19-year-old Jasper to help her claim territory in Monterrey. As a vampire, he gained the ability to sense and manipulate the emotions of those around him. In Maria's army, he trained young vampires and killed them when they were no longer useful.
Given that he (in the books, at least) was physically similar to Rosalie, it was decided that they could pass as twins, and so Jasper changed his surname to Hale instead of Cullen, which helped the coven pass as a family of adopted children.
Bella is a shield which means she is unaffected by any mental powers like mind reading or Jane's pain powers. Jane doesn't actually hurt the body she only produces an illusion of pain so Bella is immune. Bella's body is susceptible to physical powers like Jasper's and Alice.
Amun Is The Oldest Vampire
However, readers and viewers did get to know a bit about his personality and the dynamics with his coven. Amun was actually mistrustful and paranoid, and he was especially protective of Benjamin.
Emmett's gift is extreme strength that surpasses a regular vampire. He is the strongest member of the Cullens, if not the entire world. But his strength can be easily conquered by a newborn vampire, such as Bella when she challenged him to arm wrestling.
Jasper has the ability to sense and manipulate the emotions of people around him – a power that is known as 'pathokinesis'. Although described by Edward as a “subtle ability”, it seems pretty strong to us: in Twilight, he managed to calm Bella down to such an extent that she fell asleep.
Alice and Jasper met in a small diner in Philadelphia, and as Alice had already seen him, she approached Jasper, who was shocked at how her joyful emotions impacted him. The theory, then, suggests that Jasper decided to make her fall in love with him (because of his “low moral code”).
Edward had a theory that Bella's overwhelmingly appealing blood may be derived from a mixture of her parents'—Renée's being far too sweet and Charlie's being moderate—together, giving her blood a more powerful appeal.
This is a result of the human blood still present in them, as was the case of Bella in Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Those with red eyes are usually irrational, hot-headed, and travel in small groups. These characteristics differ from the more sociable golden-eyed Twilight vampires usually found living in covens.
In Eclipse, Alice explains that since her visions are no illusion of the mind, but rooted into reality, she can see Bella's future. On occasion, Alice's predictions come a feelings instead of visions if a certain future is far off and yet to be set in stone.
Why couldn't Edward read Bella's mind before she was a vampire? Bella has the gift of being a shield as a vampire. Before she was a vampire she had the gift of blocking psychic intrusion. While still a human, Bella blocks Edward's fairly benign reading as well as the more aggressive assaults from the Volturi.
Edward wasn't a great love interest, but one thing we can say for him is he never forced sex on Bella. He never pressured her, he wanted to wait for marriage. As a result, Bella's sexual awakening is slower and paced out with her own growing desires and wants.
Edward is reluctant to change Bella into a vampire, believing that becoming a vampire will destroy her soul. Bella agrees to marry Edward on the condition that he will make love to her while she is still human and then turn her into a vampire.
Renesmee is considered to be Edward and Bella's "miracle", because of what it took to keep her and her mother alive through the pregnancy. She has the abilities to show people her thoughts by touching them and presumably break through their mental defenses.
Because what makes Bella extraordinary to Edward is that her blood smells so good to him. He knows that if he were to drink her blood and kill her, she'd be the best thing he ever tasted.
In Jacob's case, he imprinted on Renesmee — who he affectionately dubbed Nessie — when she was a baby, so no, it doesn't mean he's in love with her. Jacob just has a strong bond to Renesmee and is more of a protector and as she gets older, will be a best friend, someone who's there for her when she needs it.
In addition to the traits he shares with his fellow vampires, Edward has certain abilities that are his alone. He possesses superior superhuman speed compared to that of other vampires and is the fastest of the Cullens, able to outrun any of them.
Wolf form: Jacob's wolf form is that of a large russet brown wolf. He has equivalent abilities to his brothers. He is shown to be very intelligent in both reasoning and coordinating others. He is the largest and strongest wolf in the pack.
She Lost A Child When She Was Human
Well, when she was still human, Esme was pregnant. But soon after she gave birth, tragedy struck, and she lost her child. Heartbroken, and finding no reason to remain alive, she threw herself off of a cliff, and that's when Carlisle found her.
Edward Cullen (born Edward Anthony Masen, Jr., on June 20, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois) is a telepathic vampire and a founding member of the Olympic coven, as well as a protagonist of the Twilight Saga. He is the husband of Bella Swan and the father of Renesmee Cullen.
Rosalie is described as being the "most beautiful person in the world", as she is astoundingly gorgeous, even for a vampire.
Renesmee Cullen: Jacob's mate. She is the newest and youngest member of the coven and the daughter of Edward and Bella.
