Sometime after the Invasion of Naboo, Obi-Wan Kenobi sought to construct a new weapon after he lost his first lightsaber in a duel on Naboo against the Sith Lord Darth Maul.
It was lost on Geonosis in 22 BBY when the Geonosians took Kenobi captive, and disarmed him. He would build a third lightsaber later in 22 BBY after his promotion to the Jedi High Council and the rank of Jedi Master.
