Blaming Kratos for having brought the war to Asgard and for the destruction to his family, the God of Thunder was blinded by anger and refused to listen to his enemies, who unsuccessfully urged him to stop fighting.
If Thor had killed Kratos, Atreus would have never trusted Odin, and would likely have refused to help Odin in his quest for knowledge of all things. A major part of beating God of War Ragnarok's main story is discovering the freedom in choices, and this version of Thor was entirely bound to his father's commands.
Firstly, Odin calls Kratos guilty of the murder of Magni, Modi, and Baldur and then comes up with quite a surprising offer. He asks Kratos to not get in his way, and in return, Odin will not bother him.
God of War Ragnarök pits Kratos against the biggest and baddest from Norse mythology, including the mighty Thor. And by biggest, we mean biggest. Thor is one tall God in Ragnarök and a mighty foe for Kratos and Atreus to overcome.
Despite having every opportunity to take Thor out once and for all, the once rage-consumed Ghost of Sparta has turned a new leaf. He instead spares Thor and seeks a mutually beneficial relationship in which, together, they take down Odin. Sony Kratos ultimately gets the best of Thor at the very end of Ragnarok.
Thor tears Frost Giants apart with Mjolnir in a crazed battle lust, while Kratos' Draupnir Spear requires precision and represents "his will as a general with a thinking mindset." Williams ultimately felt that Mjolnir was too obvious a weapon for Kratos and that the Draupnir Spear better represented the character in ...
4 Saitama Can Literally Beat Kratos With A Single Punch
Saitama does not get excited about battle anymore, and that is because he has become the strongest known being in the universe. Like Kratos, Saitama possesses inhuman strength and endurance, but unlike the God of War, he has unparalleled speed and reflexes.
Loki – Thor's archenemy and adoptive brother. The son of Laufey, ruler of the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, one of the "Nine Worlds" of the Asgardian cosmology. He is a master of spellcasting and trickery.
In Norse mythology Kratos can lift thors hammer as there is no such worthiness enchantment as in the mcu. People with sufficient strength can lift it such as giants(or other gods) who have stolen his hammer on multiple occasions.
In fear that Kratos, his son, would overthrow him, Zeus decided to betray and murder him. While Kratos was destroying Rhodes in an effort to be noticed by fellow gods, Zeus drained his godly power and gave life to a nearby statue, which was sent to kill Kratos.
He learned from a dying Athena that Zeus is, in fact, his father, a fact Zeus kept secret because he wished to avoid a repetition of what he did to his own father, Cronos. Kratos rejected any notion of a relationship and vowed to kill Zeus and destroy Olympus.
Due to Odin's need for control, he would abuse Thor to make him a weapon, thus turning the god into a blindly obedient right hand. As a result of this, alongside his thirst for battle, he became known for being violent, brutal, and having a destructive nature about him.
Biography. Zeus is the king of Olympus. He refused to help Thor by giving the army of gods after hearing Gorr was slaughtering the low-ranking gods. As Thor defied him, Zeus sends his guards to kill Thor and his allies, however Thor got his lightning bolt and threw it at him, presumably killing him.
Why did Kratos become weak in Ragnarok? The harsh winter and the lack of real motivation for combat might be some of the reasons why this new Kratos feels a bit less powerful than the one from the Greek days — even if he's still more than capable of beating the daylights out of a god or two.
It is documented that Greek gods grow stronger with age, and audiences have seen that with the sheer power and invulnerability of Old Kratos. As such, Old Kratos would win based on age.
1 Weakness: His Nightmares
Up until God of War III, Kratos is plagued by nightmares, which partially explains why he's so vulnerable to illusions and mind tricks. It also, of course, explains his unquenchable rage.
The evils of the box also caused Zeus to develop an intense fear of Kratos, whom he now realized was the "Marked Warrior" foretold in the Oracle's prophecy that would perpetuate the cycle of patricide which led to Zeus overthrowing his own father Cronos.
The most powerful Thor variant is Ultimate Thor, who's real name is Thorlief Golmen. Golmen discovers he is the most recent reincarnation of Thor Odinson and begins his journey as the new God of Thunder. This version of Thor was less reliant on Mjolnir as a power source.
Doctor Doom
Not everyone who has lifted Thor's hammer was worthy to hold Mjolnir. A perfect example of this is Doctor Doom, one of the world's most dangerous villains. While Doctor Doom is a master of magic and science, it was his luck in finding the hammer that allowed him to wield it.
Thor is repeatedly vanquished by the 5 new Phoenix hosts over the course of 12 issues: Colossus, Namor, Cyclops, Magik, and Emma Frost. Colossus even manages to knock Mjolnir out of Thor's hands at one point, demonstrating the strength of Phoenix and why it should not be trifled with.
Both, in their own way, have regenerative powers. Kratos' is faster acting (he can heal wounds within minutes), while Jesus' is stronger (you may recall he rose from the dead). However, I'm gonna give this one to Kratos. In a fight, it's the stamina to keep going that counts.
Two giants (quite literally) have come together, as Sony Santa Monica's God of War is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since 2005, Kratos has kept us occupied as the Ghost of Sparta. Although we moved from Ancient Greece into Norse mythology with 2018's God of War, that's only helped the series.
In God of War Ragnarök, it's likely that Kratos is around 1,055 years old. He's something of an old man, but as a demigod, he is still more than young enough to hold his own and then some in battle. Unfortunately, this is based on maths and educated guesses. Kratos's age is never told in the games.
