When the bomb goes off, Michael is irked to discover that his job wasn't completed after all, and someone like Tommy doesn't die quite that easily. After one final speech-off, Tommy shoots him in the eye, ending Polly's prophecy that there'll be a war, and one of them will die.
But unbeknownst to Michael, the ever-reliable Johnny Dogs had switched the bomb, leaving Tommy unscathed and free to traverse his road to redemption once again. The same cannot be said for Michael, however, who suffers a bullet to the head from Tommy.
After his mother Polly is murdered by the IRA Michael blames Tommy for her death and plots to kill him. Michael (who'd been banished to the US two years earlier as punishment for not warning Tommy of the ambush he thought his mum Polly was plotting with Luca Changretta that turned out to be a ruse she'd plotted with Tommy) disobeyed Tommy's orders to cash in the Shelby Company investments and lost the family hundreds of ...
Peaky Blinders season 6, episode 5, confirmed that Billy was the one who leaked Tommy Shelby's assassination plan to the IRA. Billy meets his end at the hands of Duke, after Finn refuses, in the Peaky Blinders season 6 finale.
Over five or so years, they became close, drinking whiskey, snorting cocaine and womanising together. Finn didn't realise that Billy was also working as an informant, telling Peaky Blinders secrets to the IRA.
Michael Gray is the man that Tommy Shelby cannot defeat - not because Tommy is incapable but because the cost of doing so is Tommy's soul. Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) said that he will keep going until he finds the man he cannot defeat – that man must be his cousin, Michael Gray (Finn Cole).
What happens to Tommy's brain tumor? Well, he thought he had a brain tumor. But once he discovers that the doctor who diagnosed him is friends with Tommy's onetime fascist political partner, Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin), he realizes it's all a ruse, and he isn't sick at all.
Billy Grade (Emmett J Scanlan) is revealed to be the informant or 'black cat' that betrayed the Peaky Blinders. In the last season, Finn informed him that Tommy had devised a plan to kill Mosley, and it was happening that night.
There's a theory on the Internet that Johnny Dogs, resentful of Aberama Gold's connection to the Shelbys, is the ultimate traitor. After all, Aberama had accused him of treason before and ended up being murdered in the attempted coup.

Alfie seemingly accepted his fate, stating that "there's an honorable reason now to pull that trigger" and he even forced Tommy to shoot him in self-defense when Tommy showed hesitation.
He had tuberculoma in his brain stem, a growth caused by the same bacteria as the lung disease, doubtless picked up from daughter Ruby (Orla McDonagh). It wasn't infectious but it was inoperable. The symptoms (seizures, dissociation, hallucinations, sharp cheekbones – I may have added the last one) chimed with Tommy's.
