The explanation for why she won't turn is that Nick and Abi were actually being hunted by both Caleb and Kaylee in the woods. Caleb will always bite Nick, but Kaylee can bite Abi. Kaylee is then killed by Laura at the end of Chapter 5, ending the risk of Abi turning.
Abigail, Ryan, and Kaitlyn are the only protagonists who can get infected, but never turn into werewolves. The former is because she is always cured, and the latter two is because they get infected too late to transform.
Abigail can only be infected in Chapter Three. After Nick is attacked, she has a variety of choices. Three moments can end up with her getting infected.
Abigail can get hurt and infected by Caleb/Kaylee in Chapter 3 while running away from them, but she never transfroms or experience Symptoms. It's possible that Kaylee infected her and she got killed by Laura and if she was really infected by Kaylee, she is no longer infected.
When Abigail runs to the others following werewolf Caleb's attack on Nick, she is also chased by werewolf Kaylee who possibly bites her in the neck. However, the wound later heals. Should Abi survive her encounter with transformed Nick, she will be completely covered in his blood for the rest of the game.
Nick is arguably the toughest character to keep alive in The Quarry, but it is possible to save him with some help from the other counselors.
If we kiss him, the exchange between Nick and Abi will end, starting the next part of the scene (you can skip to it here). However, if we don't kiss him, we'll get a little more dialogue that fleshes out Abi and Nick's relationship while still getting the option to kiss him later.
In short, there is no one true ending in The Quarry, as the game encourages you to test different choices and decisions throughout alternate playthroughs as you attempt to seek out as many of the 186 ending variations as possible.
Kaylee Hackett cannot be saved. She dies offscreen facing Laura in a cutscene.
Saving Abigail In Chapter Eight
Her life will depend on a choice Kaitlyn makes. The characters will approach the minivan and a werewolf Emma will jump out. Kaitlyn will need to shoot Emma, or else the werewolf will chase down and rip out Abigail's throat, and she will die.
Similar to Laura's choice with Max, Abigail will have to choose to stay with Nick or abandon him. No matter what you choose the same events will happen. If you choose to stay, Abigail will run away once the werewolf returns, and if you choose to leave, she just runs off.
If Abigail keeps the rabbit, she will eventually lose it when she leaves her bag in the lodge kitchen by accident. At the very end of the game, during Kaitlyn's battle with a werewolf in the lodge, it's possible to get cornered in the kitchen.
If Abigail is alive and Emma gets infected in Chapter 4, Kaitlyn will shoot her in chapter 8. Kaitlyn will have the choice to either shoot her with a silver shot or regular. If it's a regular shot, it will cause Emma to escape still infected but alive.
Abigail, Ryan, and Kaitlyn are the only protagonists who can get infected, but never turn into werewolves. The former is because she is always cured, and the latter two is because they get infected too late to transform.
Abigail, as a Merriwick, is a powerful witch who uses magic to influence the outcomes of situations.
Alex is kissed by Mason in "Alex Charms a Boy" but doesn't get changed into a werewolf, like Justin in "Beware Wolf," when he kissed Isabella. This is explained to be because Mason is a purebred and not a mutt. Alex, her family, and Harper discover that Mason is a werewolf.
Since the lodge has a broken door, the other counselors can sneak in and hide without issue, which causes the monsters to focus on the hut instead. It is still possible to save Dylan if the monster bites his hand by using Ryan to amputate it before the infection spreads.
What happens if Dylan stays infected? If Dylan is infected in Chapter 5 and Ryan does not cut off his hand, Dylan's survival is guaranteed, as Silas (and possibly Emma) won't attack him, he'll turn into a werewolf and no one can kill him.
If Constance wasn't killed in the exchange, Travis, Constance and Jedediah will bicker amongst themselves about Laura. Bobby will then bring Ryan up from the basement and we'll get a choice: run from Bobby or distract him to help Ryan? Both will result in the same outcome; it'll just change the order it happens.
Make it to Silas and break the curse
Finally, when given the option to kill or spare Silas, have Laura break the curse by shooting the creature. This will mean any characters who remain infected will be cured and freed. And that's how you end up getting the best ending in The Quarry.
Table of contents. In The Quarry, infection is usually caused by werewolves when they bite another person. In Hackett's Quarry Summer Camp, all the protagonists have a chance of getting infected. The only way to cure this curse is by killing the werewolf that caused it with silver on a full moon night.
You can also check out GameSpot's guide to get the Last Man Standing achievement/trophy. Spoilers ahead. The final girl in question is Kaitlyn, played by Brenda Song. In order to get this achievement you will need to keep her alive through the night and make sure every other counselor/playable character dies.
Nick. Nick and Abigail both have crushes each other at the beginning of the game, but are too shy to make any move. However, Nick soon is given the perfect opportunity to try to show his feelings to Abigail as they gather kindling.
Nick will transform into a Werewolf, attack Abigail, crush her body against a wall, and bite her head off. Nick then flees and can be confronted later in chapter 8. If players choose to shoot Nick, Abigail will live and Nick will still escape, and they will not earn the "Lover's Quarrel" achievement.
We'll be able to show the bite or hide it. Although this is presented as a major choice, it's completely inconsequential. If you don't show the bite, Ryan will notice it immediately, nixing the decision. It's another choice where you're better off picking how you feel your Laura would respond to the situation.
