In the Milton sterilising solution (made up either with the Sterilising Fluid or Tablets) there is 0.012% of chlorine which is far less than the level accepted by the WHO. This explains why it is not necessary to rinse. Also there is a risk of contaminating the baby accessories again by rinsing them.
Leave the equipment in the solution for the recommended time – there's no need to rinse the solution off after sterilisation. Throw out the solution after 24 hours and wash out the container before preparing a new batch.

If you have been advised by your doctor or nurse to use Milton Sterlilising Fluid baths as a hand or foot soak you can follow the instructions above but instead add 15mls of Milton Sterilising Fluid to a washing-up bowl or bucket, and then add 7 ½ litres of water before soaking hands or feet for 10 minutes.

After you've finished sterilising
It's best to leave bottles and teats in the steriliser or pan until you need them. If you do take them out, put the teats and lids on the bottles straight away. Wash and dry your hands before handling sterilised equipment.
