The first syllable in Akaza's name contains the the kanji that stands for gentle and docile. An individual who's believed to be gentle and docile shouldn't really have a scowl on their faces. This could be a major reason why Akaza was portrayed as a character that always keeps smiling in
Prior to being transformed into a demon, Akaza demonstrated superhuman endurance at the age of 11 as he endured beatings that could make a grown man go numb (100 beatings) thus earning the title of "Demon Child". Akaza stated that he would endure those beatings even if lasts hundreds of years just for his father.
In spite of his cruelty and wrath, Akaza had one special code; he never devoured any women, in spite of the fact that eating females would have actually made him even stronger, and Muzan gave him special permission to do so. He also showed a serious self-loathing tendency, valuing others above the good of himself.
As noted by Upper Moon Two Demon Doma, Akaza refuses to eat or harm women. He only likes to fight strong opponents and often asks his opponents to switch sides and become demons so that they can prolong their fights.
Akaza is a stubborn demon who respects the strong and despises the weak. So much so, that the demon goes out of his way to challenge powerful fighters and demon slayers. In the Infinity Train Arc, he quickly took a liking to Rengoku, begging him to become a demon, so the two could continue dueling forever.
It could be because of Koyuki that he refused to kill or eat women. For Muzan to give Akaza special permission, he must have known the exact details of the events that transpired. While the manga did not explicitly mention the reason, it could be because of Koyuki's effect on Akaza back when he was human.
Akaza from Demon Slayer is perhaps the best-written villain in the series. Akaza's personality has numerous complexities and contradictions that define him. He is exceptionally polarizing in the fandom. Anime-only fans hate Akaza because he killed Rengoku during the Mugen Train arc.
Despite losing his memories, Akaza was noted to have subconsciously retained his strong feelings for Koyuki, this is seen where Doma noted that Akaza absolutely refused to kill and eat women during his hundreds of years as a Demon, despite his obsessive desire for more strength and power.
Furthermore, Doma is regarded as the coldest and most obnoxious demon. He frequently behaves carelessly around Muzan, which he even hates. All these aspects, as well as Doma's lack of sincerity, irresponsibility, and complete maniac-like nature, fuel Akaza's hatred for him.
In conclusion, Nezuko cannot beat Akaza in Demon Slayer. In terms of power, physical abilities, regeneration rate and overall combat ability, Akaza is far superior compared to Nezuko.
People hated Akaza in the beginning since he was responsible for the death of Rengoku. However, as the story progressed, fans realized the extent of the suffering he had been through as a human. Owing to his poor financial situation, he resorted to stealing to supply medicines to his father.
since it was his first mission, he came up with a crazy plan. he hit himself so hard that he got temporarily deaf. to make his first mission successful. but this decision had a permanent effect on his hearing. that's the reason why he always speaks so loudly.
Akaza also hated weakness, which was something he saw in Tanjiro from the moment that they met. His fight against Tanjiro unlocked the rest of his suppressed memories and allowed him to finally accept his death. Akaza hated Tanjiro as a demon, but he only let go of that hatred when he finally remembered his humanity.
He partly blamed himself for not being strong enough, with his flame breathing style being distinctly inferior to the ultimate demon slayer art of sun breathing. Unable to master sun breathing and resenting its very existence, Shinjuro quit the demon slayer corps and retreated inward.
Gyomei's Nichirin weapon is quite peculiar, as instead of a sword, he has a Flailed Spiked Mace connected with an Axe. However, he could kill a Demon by landing rapid blows until daybreak. Gyomei can defeat Akaza without even awakening his Demon Slayer mark.
Akaza was also one of Muzan's favorite demons out of all his subordinates. The reason behind this is Akaza's extreme loyalty to his master. The Upper Rank Three demon was always sent away on special missions, something the Upper Rank 1 and 2 were often denied of.
Every demon in the Demon Slayer respects the demon lord because of the fear he inflicts. Even Upper-Rank Three: Akaza got thrashed boasting about executing a Hashira, insignificant to Muzan as humans are frivolity in front of demons. Apart from that, Muzan doesn't hate Akaza because of his obedience.
Akaza would probably be at least 2 times stronger.

She's also feral when her demon powers come out. She was turned into a demon by Muzan and thus stuck in a 12-year-old body. This made her an ideal target for Demon Slayers, which is why Tanjiro has to carry her around hidden in a basket and to hide her from the sun.
