The reason why Hagrid was so trusted was because he was kind and loving and protective. His moral compass never went astray even when his common sense did. He was loyal to Dumbledore to a fault, and loyalty is a very powerful magic.
“I trust Severus Snape.” It''s a phrase that has echoed for five books and left us wondering. We waited expectantly for the revelation that we believed was coming –– why did Dumbledore trust Snape? And in the sixth book we finally got an answer – of sorts.
Harry learns Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts because another student, Tom Riddle, accused him of opening the Chamber of Secrets and releasing a monster that killed a girl.
When asked about what form Hagrid's Patronus takes, Rowling replied that Hagrid actually can't produce a Patronus because “it's a very difficult spell.”
Hagrid knows Voldemort's name, identity and past.
In fact, at the beginning of the series, barely anyone but Dumbledore and Hagrid knew that Voldemort was the charming, successful Tom Marvolo Riddle.
He was a Gryffindor
Hagrid's Hogwarts house is never mentioned in the books, but, given his kindness, noble nature and bravery, it might not come as that much of a surprise that Hagrid was in Gryffindor.
In the movie, we don't see Hagrid until he's being held captive by Voldemort's Death Eaters in the Forbidden Forest. In the book, Hagrid, Grawp (his giant half-brother), and Fang (Hagrid's dog) show up at the castle to fight before Harry finds the diadem.
At the beginning of the Battle of Hogwarts, the Death Eaters invaded the home of the Acromantula and drove them to attack the school. When the spiders attacked, Hagrid ran forwards to protect them. Acromantula are horribly strong, so it is likely that they captured him and took him to Lord Voldemort.
In 1993 Hagrid was sent to the wizarding prison, Azkaban, when the Chamber of Secrets was re-opened. It was assumed he was the one who reopened the Chamber because his expulsion from Hogwarts was for the same occurrence.
Severus Snape was loyal to Lily Potter, and the loyalty he gave to Albus Dumbledore was far from being deserved.
"I always saw Dumbledore as gay," Rowling said in response to a fan question about Dumbledore's love life. "Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald" and was "blinded" by it.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald only spent about two months together, but the two canonically became lovers in that time. Their relationship was passionate and intense, and each wizard helped shape the philosophies of the other.
Many fans now think that Hogwarts headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is the true villain, with many saying he set it up so that Lily and James were killed so he could use Harry to defeat Voldemort himself. One commenter said: “Dumbledore is the villain that JK Rowling didn't mean to write.”
The big “secret” about the Dumbeldore family that the title promises is actually an explanation of the last film's cliffhanger. Albus confirms to Creedence early on in the film that he is in fact a Dumbledore, quashing any rumor that Grindelwald had lied to the young boy in order to sway him to his movement.
Hagrid is known for his thick West Country accent. Being a half-giant, he is less vulnerable to jinxes and spells than full-humans. In Order of the Phoenix, when Umbridge and some other wizards come to remove him from Hogwarts he fights back.
Narcissa's greatest moment, however, was when she chose to betray Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Not knowing whether Draco was alive or dead, Narcissa chose to lie to the Dark Lord rather than risk losing her son.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
Lucius eventually became a Death Eater, one of the followers of Lord Voldemort, and even one of the most trusted servants, but abandoned that side after the Dark Lord's first fall in 1981. Lucius claimed he had been bewitched by Voldemort through the Imperius Curse and had not meant to serve him.
The dagger used by Bellatrix was a cursed dagger. Healing a wound caused by a cursed dagger requires immense medical skills. Hermione is not a medical witch. She can't heal Dobby.
Moaning Myrtle
Born in the late 1920s to Muggle parents, Myrtle Warren started her Hogwarts life in the early 1940s, where she was sorted into Ravenclaw. She had no friends, and was bullied relentlessly because of her glasses and acne.
Case study 2: Severus Snape
A doe. And in his final battle with Lord Voldemort, Harry explained the significance of this to his adversary, and to us: 'Snape's Patronus was a doe,' said Harry, 'the same as my mother's, because he loved her for nearly all of his life, from the time when they were children'.
We also meet Tom Riddle, who is, as it turns out, the heir of Slytherin. Present only in spirit, he has all the same been controlling Ginny, and having her act as Slytherin's heir. We also meet the Monster of the Chamber, a basilisk.
Her real parents were Daneel and Dean Novak, Pureblooded wizards. Turns out Daneel was Tom Riddles younger sister, Daneel Riddle. Of course, the Riddles were related to Salzar Slytherin himself, and this made Hermione the living heir of Slytherin.
At Hogwarts, she, along with her sisters, was sorted into Slytherin. It is suggested in the novels that, as a student, Bellatrix associated with a group of students – including Rodolphus Lestrange, Severus Snape, Avery, Evan Rosier and Wilkes – who nearly all became Death Eaters.
