Jennifer was on death's door, but luckily she received a blood transfusion from her cousin, Dr. Bruce Banner. As everyone knows, Banner's alter ego is none other than the Incredible Hulk, so by receiving his gamma-radiated blood, Jennifer now has her own Hulking form.
Walters is a lawyer who, after an injury, received an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner, and acquired a milder version of his Hulk condition. As such, Walters becomes a large, powerful, green-hued version of herself.
In the Marvel comics, Walters is a lawyer who becomes She-Hulk after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin -- one Bruce Banner. Luckily for her, she gets Hulk-like powers without losing her intelligence or personality. As a result she's able to get on with her "normal" life in her Hulk form.
The blood works its way into Jennifer's system through her own cuts and scrapes, and this leads her to become She-Hulk. According to Gao, the change came about as someone at the top didn't think the mob hit storyline worked with the comedy premise of the show.
Unlike the Hulk, Jennifer has nearly always retained her intelligence, ingenuity, and cleverness while in her She-Hulk form and, also unlike her cousin, tends to embrace her alter ego.
In the World War Hulk comic book series, She-Hulk admitted that Hulk (not the Smart one) smashes a thousand times harder than her. In another incident, She-Hulk and Hulk exchange hands, and Hulk easily overpowers her.
Like the Hulk, She-Hulk's powers vary according to writers. Although she is often described as less powerful than the Hulk as a consequence of not having gone through a full transformation, She-Hulk has performed incredible feats that, at certain times, rival the Hulk's strength.
Due to training from the alien Ovoids, She-Hulk is able to swap powers and physiques with other human women but retains her green skin pigmentation, and only used it once. Due to the Hulk's wish, Jennifer can now switch between her human and hulk forms at will.
Altogether, this series completely defies the classic Marvel structure and introduces a writing style much different than any of the Marvel movies or limited series before it. Because of this, many Marvel lovers hated this series.
Marvel Studios is working to replace the original Avengers after Avengers: Endgame, and Werewolf by Night proves Jack Russell is Hulk's real MCU replacement, not She-Hulk. The trend of replacing the original Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a big focus of Phase 4.
For authenticity, rather than using CGI, as is done with many of the shots throughout the first season, She-Hulk was played by influencer and pro bodybuilder Devon Lewis. We know this thanks to behind-the-scenes footage shared by Lewis himself, showing him in the full green garb as he gives his best She-Hulk snarl.

But since his blood is full of gamma radiation, it has the same effect on Jennifer that it did on Bruce – it turns her into a large, green-skinned monster whenever she exhibits anger (in the comics, Jennifer eventually gains more control over her transformation and later becomes She-Hulk permanently).
We really leaned towards Olympians rather than bodybuilders. That's where a lot of our body references came from, very strong Olympic athletes. So she doesn't have a bodybuilder's physique, but she absolutely has a very strong physique that can justify the actions that she does in the show.
Later she found out that exercising in her human body lead to increases in her hulk body. Jennifer didn't have the rage fueled childhood of Bruce. She also tended to be cool and collected and cultivated her lawyer aspect. So she was never maximum angry.
Mantlo left the series for Alpha Flight and that series' writer John Byrne took over The Incredible Hulk. The final issue of Byrne's six issue run featured the wedding of Bruce Banner and Betty Ross.
Bruce and Betty never had any children, but the Hulk had two sons by his second wife, Caiera. During PLANET HULK, it was the Hulk who courted Caiera, but she accepted Bruce as well. Although Caiera appeared to die, she gave birth to Skaar and Hiro-Kala.
The Hulk was named successor to the throne by popular acclaim, and he chose Caiera as his queen. Before they were wed, she had him reveal his greatest secret to her.
Fortunately for Jen, she and Bruce share a rare combination of genetic factors that allow them to synthesize gamma radiation into something else. After Jen's exposure to his blood, Bruce began running tests to analyze her blood which proved to be the key to healing his arm.
Jen climbs out of the car in one piece, but she's cut up and bleeding all down her arm. She crawls back into the car and frees Bruce from his seatbelt, but he's more worried about other things. The collision destroyed the inhibitor on his arm and he's bleeding out Hulk blood everywhere. However, it's too late.
The Inverse Analysis — Hulk and Bruce Banner had some ongoing power issues throughout Infinity War that ultimately led to Bruce Banner absorbing the Hulk persona entirely going into Endgame. Hulk refused to emerge for the rest of Infinity War after losing to Thanos, which was somewhat frustrating for viewers.
Thor, the god of Thunder, was undoubtedly the most powerful member of the original Avengers. His power continues to grow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
