If you are experiencing poor video or audio quality when viewing both the Live View and recorded videos in the Ring app, the problem is most likely due to a wifi issue like signal or data loss. In some cases, this can be caused by issues with your router.
To fix this, try moving your device closer to the router or extend your wifi signal with a wifi extender like the Ring Chime Pro. Footage is heavily pixelated: If you're seeing heavy pixilation, even next to the router, this may be due to slow wifi speeds.
If the lens on your Video Doorbell or Security Camera appears blurry, please use a dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe down the lens of any dirt or condensation. I'd also recommend ensuring any protective plastic or films have been fully removed from your Ring device.
By default, in Home Mode, indoor cameras do not detect motion or provide Live View, but outdoor cameras remain fully active. Away mode is designed to monitor your whole home, inside and out. Select this mode when you leave home to activate Ring Doorbells, Cams and Alarm.
If you are experiencing poor audio or video quality during a Live View, but your recordings are fine, this can be caused by: A poor connection between your mobile device and the cloud. A connectivity problem between the Video Doorbell or Security Camera and your router.
The most common reason for a blurry photo is an incorrect use of shutter speed. The faster your shutter speed is, the less chance there is for camera shake. This is particularly true when shooting handheld. There is no way that anyone will be able to handhold a camera steady enough at slow shutter speeds.
Your phone has a set of tiny lenses that move back and forth, thus changing where the captured light converges on the sensor, which determines what is in focus and what isn't. Don't think too hard about it. All you need to know, is that there's tiny stuff moving in your phone and things sometimes get stuck.
To get rid of any blurriness, we'd recommend upping the brightness level and bringing the contrast down a bit. It won't solve all your problems if your video is extremely out of focus, but it will definitely help clever things up a little. When you're happy with your adjustments, select an output format.
The improper frame rates and shutter speeds can make your videos look wrong. Ideally, lower the shutter speed, more will be the clarity in the videos. Also, the shutter speed should be more than the frame rate, ideally twice. If this is not adjusted properly, then the quality of the videos is compromised.
Clear video, day and night: Every Ring camera has 1080p HD resolution and infrared night vision, so we could see absolutely everything going on in and around our home.
A Dirty Lens
There are a few things that can cause a blurry DSLR camera lens, but the most common culprit is simply dirty lenses. Dust, fingerprints, and even smudges from your clothing can all lead to lens blur. Luckily, cleaning your lenses and getting them back to looking their best is easy.
Increasing the contrast and exposure of your photo can also make it appear more clear. “Adjusting the photo's clarity and sharpness will be the most helpful.” Employing fade or grain to your photo can add style, or give a filtered look that makes an out-of-focus photo less obvious.
Fotor Unblur Image App On the Go
Fotor is not only an online tool, it also has a mobile app that you can use to unblur a photo on your iPhone or Android device. By tapping a single button, you can fix blurry pictures and make them clearer immediately. It also allows you to adjust the settings to get the best look.
If you feel compelled to use a solution, eyeglass solutions are fine to use on the lens—but just like we recommend for cleaning eyeglasses, soap and water should also be able to do the job just fine. Try cleaning the lens with a damp (not wet) microfiber cloth first, and you can add a little dish soap, if needed.
Without the proper security measures in place, Ring cameras can be hacked. A general rule of thumb when it comes to device security: if it can connect to the internet, it can be hacked. A Ring doorbell hack or exploit, when found by a hacker, will typically be shared online with other cybercriminals.
To Access Motion Settings:
Tap the three lines on the top left of your Ring app. Tap your Spotlight Cam Wired/Mount. Tap Motion Settings. Adjust the motion sensitivity according to your preferences.
The motion detection in doorbell cameras depends on the type of the brand, if you're using the Ring doorbell and have subscribed to the Ring Protect Plan, it'll record all the time. However, if you don't have this subscription, the Ring doorbell camera will only start recording when it detects a motion.
Away Mode should be used when no one is at the business location. This will arm all sensors and Motion Detectors inside and around the perimeter of your business. Home Mode is designed to be used when you or your employees have locked the doors and are working late, and need to feel secure inside the business.
